Took the short candle out and substituted the flicker light.
All I could think of was that I would have a second chance to find the vendor with that red glass creation that was a wall sconce of some type.
This fair boasted of 200 vendors and I happily plodded along looking at everything and occasionally buying to the very end.
Sigh! :0( That vendor wasn't there.
Okay..there is always .....next year! :0)
Dang! I wish I had taken their business card.....if they had one. Wish I had taken my camera too.
I need to leave it in my favorite jacket pocket.
I will be wearing this coat in the winter til the cows come home...to...where?
It has large zippered pockets on the outside and three or more nice pockets on the inside.
One being zippered where I keep my money. :0)
No purse carrying for moi all winter.............oh except for when I go to Fl, that is. :0(
The very first booth had some interesting items.... decided to buy if the urge still persisted on the way out.
THE URGE WON OVER when we left. :0) The two purchases above,
It was still open hoping for those last buyers just before they reached the door.
I'm hoping I can snap a few pictures of my buys without being seen and hubby and Jill thinking I've gone nuts before I post.
Saw a few things I'd like to have, but didn't buy. One reason was because Tracie told me to leave something for her to buy for me and another was even though I admired the tall bureau votive light holders with iris' , I have some votive candle holders ( though not as tall ) on my bureau in royal ruby red.
Betcha I could have found another place to display them though. :0)
Then there was an iris shaped window hanger in leaded glass.
Just one in purple and again Tracie talked me out of buying it. :0(
Have one, would like more to put on the slider or my bedroom window. sigh!
I'm sighing because by the time we got back to where we started....everyone was covering the stuff on their booths over. Closing time was at 5 and we didn't get there until three.
Tracie took off telling me she would be right back. Hoping she made it to those vendors before they left.
I bought myself a potato bag! Have never heard of those.
Still LIVING and LEARNING.
You can put up to four potatoes in it and nuke them.
Maybe hubby will say his potato is cooked for a change.
I can mash mine with a fork...he always says his isn't cooked enough. :0(
Another vendor had a little ceramic plate with nubs that you could grate with. Ah ha!!!
My eyes must have been weary....saw the carrot the vendor used to display how it worked.
I asked about cheese. Next to the carrot was a square of cheese.
One demonstrated she Sold me on it. Jill has wanted something small to grate fresh hard cheese with that doesn't require much space..........or washing up. WALLA!!!!
This is just shy of 5 inches round and ceramic. :0) Feeling proud of myself with this purchase. :0)
It's going to make a great stocking stuffer too.
Another buy was seedless blueberry jelly for hubby.
Not far into the vendors I spotted American Girl doll stuff.
Picked out a Hannah Montana design sleeping bag with a matching pillow for Alex' doll.
Tracie tried to talk me out of buying from the first vendor I saw as there would be others.
There were......but none had sleeping bags. Glad I bought , when I bought. :0)
Those things are light enough to tote around. No problemo!
We traveled all over Hell's creation to get there and back.
Every time we passed a road or highway entrance that I knew would take us where we wanted to go, I'd say" where are you going?'
I know, I know , Tracie would say...but I know this way and don't know which exit to take off that way.
Oh well....sit back and GO ALONG FOR THE RIDE!
Speaking of rides. Son Randy has been calling since yesterday wanting all of us to go to his place in NH for a turkey dinner.
I have tried to be nice telling him it's uncomfortable for hubby to drive that distance.
Son Michael lives just an exit further away and we have only been there two...maybe a third time since he had a house built on our land..
CRS moment. No more than THREE TIMES though.
He doesn't want to take no for an answer and is calling here ....3xs now to talk to Jill.
Put a 25 lb. turkey in the oven earlier and when I told him that hubby doesn't do instant potaotoes he said he's go buy him a sweet potato. sigh!
The roads were sheets of ice earlier. Lots of people off the road into ??? whatever they hit.
Jill came home earlier with the whine bucket when the temperature was lower than it is now snd told us of the accidents they saw..
W.B. dropped Alex off at one of his sisters that lives in my town to go to church with her cousin a year or so older than her. :0)
It was 32 then and is 43 now.
I'm bad....... secretly hoping that the three of them go and bring us TO GO PLATES.
When do your kids recognise that you aren't young any longer?????
I need to stop dying my hair and wear sturdy orthopedic black shoes with THICK HEELS !.
The blonde hair and sneakers isn't convincing enough! I shit you not!
NO OFFENSE INTENDED TO ANYONE WITH WHITE HAIR AND ORTHOPEDIC SHOES.
Forecast is rain all day, heavy at times. A good day to stay home, dry, warm and read or whatever that makes one happy.
Randy is one of my kids that can't sit still. Driving with him has improved only to the fact that he doesn't have the stereo in his car turned up full blast that the base reverberates in your ears for hours after and he used his left foot to bang against the wall in front of his car door as his automatic drummer.
He may resemble Mick Jagger, but that's the extent of it.
Still retains the HEAVY FOOT, but denies it.
I have to use the imaginary brakes on my side of his car or truck quite often. I shit you not!
He offered to come pick us up if Jill isn't going. Nooooooooooooo thank you!
I want to LIVE!!!!
Going to be hurt feelings with him, I fear! I'm probably going to be going with the other 3 to make him happy. sigh!
Just talked to Jill. he expects us at one thirty and she is making the mashed potatoes here to take with us.
Randy is the only one that thinks instant potatoes taste better than mashed.
Oh and less I forget, he was always a stickler about finding not a sign of a lump in my mashed potatoes. sigh!
I'm spoiling my appetite. Just put some of the strawberry rhubarb jam I bought at the first fair I attended with Tracie into a small bowl and am dipping Wheatables nut crisps crackers in it. Soon my finger will be wiping up what's left in the bowl. YUM! Good to the last speck. I shit you not!
Need something in my stomach before I take the vitamin Super B Complex.
The bottle tells me so.... :0)
It's NOON. STOP THE CLOCKS!!!!
I have no desire to shower and get on the road in the next hour. I shit you not!
Jill has the potatoes cooking. CRAP!
A second day of peace and quiet for hubby being here ALL ALONE.
He has his Life Alert to summon HELP should he need it.
Must get off my arse and fix him something to eat before I leave.
Hubby is bitching that he doesn't get to read his paper before the other two do.
Jill brought it in to read and is in the shower now. Whine bucket must be reading it now.
Hope the HELL he isn't doing the crossword puzzle like he likes to do on Sunday.
Must venture to her room so hubby cools down. sigh!
W.B. had the crossword and was working it.
Just that one section at the end of the Sunday paper should be NO BIG DEAL...but to hubby IT IS!
Wonder of wonders....hubby has decided that he is going to try to go to Randy's.
He is headed to take his shower. WILL WONDERS NEVER CEASE????????????????
Is that EVER or NEVER?????
Oh well.... you get my drift!
That's All Folks!
hope you ended up having a good time
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle when you mentioned about the hair and when do your kids realize that you are getting old. My son hates to hear it when I say it. I guess my dark blond hair coloring has him fooled. Hoping you had a good day today.
ReplyDeleteMary
So... did the potatos in a bag turn out any good? Because sadly, today is all about the food for me. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with hubby re the newspaper, I can feel his ire. If I buy a paper or magazine NOBODY is allowed to read it before I do. They can always go and buy their own.
