Dear Diary, Counting down the hours.

Less than 24 hours left before Ed and I hit the road to Jacksonville where my brother and sister in law live.  Will spend a few days there and head to Home Sweet Home.
This is not a happy home. Far from it. I shit you not!

Ed and I spend as much time as possible out in the lanai to keep out of the way.
DIL can't stand the tv to be on to anything except what she deems acceptable viewing.
My son has been gracious enough to turn the tv on so that Ed can watch O'Reilly  at 8 P.M. most week nights.
During the rest of the day it's OFF.
Nothing to listen to, except for the two yorkies barking and barking as they play and oh yes, they do bark like hell when someone comes to the door.
Last night grand daughter Corinne came with her 80 pound dog Sam and there was more than the usual barking from the yorkies as all four dogs played up a storm. Wondering why they haven't had their Zap collars on for a few days now, but not asking.

Ed is a Saint. I shit you not!
Last night my son turned the tv on and we watched a few shows before O'Reilly came on.  Lots of confusion as the dogs jumped all over us and the furniture with the yorkies barking away. Don't know what volume my son had it to. Could sense that my DIL was not happy with the noises coming from her and the stuff she was banging around in the kitchen. Kitchen and living room are an open area.
Heard her say, "how many times do you need to hear that shit."
Then she asked Sonny to take their dogs out.
Ed and I both felt uncomfortable.
It was 8:45, so I took my leave to take Mia out to do her business before bed time.
When I came back in Ed was walking towards the bedroom and I saw Deb turn the tv off with a look of satisfaction on her face as she pushed the off buttons.
Ed told me that once Sonny and I were out of the room she walked past him, looked him in the face and, picked up the remote and turned the tv down to where he could not hear it. "What a bitch she is", were his words to me. I thanked him for putting up with what he has since we came and also vowed, "never again."
When my son texts me Family Table ( he eats breakfast there once or twice a week and we have joined him), I will text back "TV". He will understand me.
He knows that his ex wife is whacked and says as much and often.
He use to say, "this will pass", but she went from worst to (blankity, blank, blank). ISYN!
I have been around Deb for many years and we always seemed to get along but I have to say these past 5 or so years she has changed for the worst. ISYN! She has a smile and words for every body except Sonny, Ed and myself.  Ed calls her 'two faced."   I agree. Sonny says she is in her element here as an RN. . Her adoring public  come to her with their medical problems and she goes to their houses to change dressings, give insulin shots, etc. On top of this she is the Social Planner/Director for here as well as a Meet Up group she started with women that don't live here and was quick to boast about it at a clubhouse social we attended to other women at our table that it's made up of 95% of divorced women.  People come to the door with $ for tickets to whatever she has planned for an outing or to drop something of, etc. and her smiles and words drip with honey. ISYN!
Personally, I think she is involved in too many things including ripping out and planting and planting (no other neighbors to this) and is stressed, but would never admit it.
There is no small talk or pleasantries. Just curt replies from my DIL.
Ed just remarked to me that dinner ought to be interesting with no one talking.
It's a wonder that we even have an appetite.
My son is congenial, but that only goes so far.
He does all the cooking and though Deb doesn't eat meat, we will enjoy the meal he makes. . I say "we", but Ed's stomach get sour with all this tension.
Can't help but feel that we are making things worse for my son. One time he misunderstood what I was saying when I said "am I causing you problems" as I hid a microwave cover behind my back to gift to him. He replied, "no".  Then I handed him the cover and he read that it was BPA free and all that good stuff. Said he would leave that on for Deb to read. He uses a large plastic bowl to cover his food.  Maybe I should have left well enough alone as I notice that when Deb uses the microwave she leaves it out on the counter. More stuff is not where she is at. Less is better. The are two different sized sauce pans. He has to make the squash early and put it in a bowl to nuke later and re-use it to make the potatoes later. Both can't be done at the same time and the counter top stove has only 2 burners.  Deb has one four place setting. Perfect for Deb.  You get the picture!

Speaking of pictures............................they will follow with some excerpts as my son keeps popping in and out of the lanai.

Dinner was yummy. Deb had everything but the turkey and Sonny made her a separate stuffing with no meat in it.
I tried to make conversation with Deb a few times. Referred to her next door neighbor Sally and asked her if she finished her 5k race today. "Um" was the reply.
Can't remember what else I spoke of but the reply was almost the same. Ed praised Sonny's cooking and she did say it was very good. Then she went on about what she wants him to put up for Christmas decorations. Tomorrow he can begin at the front of the house, she told him.
I helped wash and dry most of the dishes we used. She left the table and has been no where in sight.
If I heard her right, she decorates the club house. I can hear it now....everyone will praise her and she will be all smiles.  Oh well. Enough of that shit before I sour my stomach. I shit you not!
2:30 P.M. and counting. I shit you not!
(((hugs)))

That's All Folks!
