The W.B. tagged along with Jill in my car to got pick up Michelle and bring her here when her call came shortly after 9 a.m. Some time around noon they all came through the door...Scamp included. My poor dogs have given up in defeat, they never made a complaint. Scamp and Cash get along JUST FINE. They chase each other everywhere. In one door to the back yard and out the other they run. Eventually they take a breather laying facing each other panting away anddddddddddddddddd they begin anew. :0)
The W.B. left to go home to change out of uniforn and get some sleep. I'm sure he was reluctant to. Not that I blame him, because later in the afternoon someone picked her up and I didn't see the whites of her eyes until around 11:30 . Can't say that she didn't have DRINK in her, but she could walk and talk without stumbling and slurring.
I haven't mentioned all the phone calls from hubby's family and mine looking for updates. Those take a bite out of my day. Twice I was having a BM when the phone rang and right away I think the worst. Wipe hurriedly and pull up my pants and head to the nearest phone. One was from my Cheryl telling me that her daughter Shayla had been throwing for three days and now there was some blood. Can't keep anything down. Temp of 103. Taking her to the local E.R.
Another was from the V.A. Pill Clinic noting that hubby was just in the hospital and choosing another day to meet with me about his meds. Think she made it for the end of August, but will get a reminder in the mail...not to worry. sigh!
Back to my bedroom I go to try to organize MY SHIT. Receipts, sales slips, yarn bags, shoe boxes......YOU NAME IT ...I'VE GOT IT!!!! I shit you not!
I had called hubby after 8 a.m. yesterday and he sounded good. Haven't called him this morning yet.( Michelle just woke ..it's 8:10 and she is in alot of pain. needs to take her Vicoden. )
Sooooooooooooooo I'm doing what I seem to do best lately, ( getting nowhere fast ) and a social worker from the rehab place calls and needed me there to help hubby fill out and sign paperwork. Informed me that after 20 days Medicare won't pay their bill in full and $141 a day will be my responsibility. She's probably the sixth person I have told that I WILL TAKE HIM HOME ON THE 20th DAY!
Right now I am trying to make Michelle confortable. Made her a pot of coffee. She was nauseas all night long. When Tracie and I went to supper around 87:30 p.m. she asked that a plate be brought home to her. Salmon Croquettes, carrots and a baked potato. She tried to take her first bite and headed for the toilet.
She was constipated too and took a stool softener earlier. The FUN began. I shit you not!
She ran to that bathroom over and over ...Once she initially did some poop, the loose stuff followed. Poor kid! :0( I packed her meal up and put it away..
I was on the throne when she had to go for the ?th time. YOU CAN stop peeing in the middle of a stream.
I shit you not!
I digressed. Social worker wanted to know what time I would be at the nursing home and I looked at the diningroom clock and said...3:30. She said it's 3:25 now. WTF!!!! The battery had shit the bed in the clock that I was looking at. sigh!!! Tried to rush and get ready to go, phone is ringing. It's my Cheryl. Shayla was admitted and was on her second bag of saline solution . No sooner had I hung up ( or did I? ) randy came through my bedroom door and blood was streaming from his head down all over his face to his chest. He looked like something out of a horror movie. Long story short....he raised up from whatever he was doing in my shed and a roofing nail went into his head. You know how bad a head wound bleeds???? Trust me, it looks worst than it is sometimes. This time that was the case. :0)
Off I went to the nursing home praying that the rain held off and IT DID. Spent two hours ( through his supper , helping him out with his meal and decided I was pushing my luck with the rain and left. All I met with were sprinkles off and on and the rain fell later last night. :0) Tracie was here when I got home. My Jill had taken off to parts unknown before I left. Someone picked her up. Michelle and Tracie were sitting at the table talking. ( Poor Michelle )sigh! Tracie thinks this is just like OLD HOME WEEK. Hanging out with kids she grew up with. sigh!
It's almost 9. Jill just got up! Asked me if I fed Cash. Told her I tried to. He wouldn't eat, was more interested in Scamp so I put it up on the counter.
W.B. came here ???? when????? He was making himself coffee when I woke at 7:15 and has been at the parlor computer. He may have tried to wake her earlier....she may have told him where TO GO!
Now she just chased Cash down to give him his med for that skin parasite.
Last night I didn't get to sleep until after midnight. Jill came in sometime after eleven and she and Michelle were talking and I heard her ask and then get water for Michelle and they both put their dogs out around midnight. Cash wanted to stay out and play in the dark. Nincumpoof dog!
So much more went on during the day up until bed at midnight. I can just skip over that and SAVE US BOTH. Must, must,MUST call hubby this morning. It's 9:09 a.m.
Hairdresser coming between 10:30 and 11 to color my hair.
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.

D D Hubby just might be over The Hump
From what I have seen ......hubby is doing better. :0)
His weight is down to 133, just three pounds shy of what he was when I met him. Much too thin, BUT he is eating now. :0)
He is in the next town over from me and that in itself takes some of the stress off of me. No shit!!!
There are stores in that town ( Walmart,Kohls,TJMaxx, that I on occasion like to shop in.
Yesterday was not one of them. I came straight home after visiting with him a few hours, before, during and after his supper. He ordered his own food from a menu earlier and tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich is what he ate. I did use their microwave to reheat the sandwich. Everyone is very amicable and helpful. I only see smiles on the staff's faces and a genuine look of caring. :0)
Shower days are Wednesday and Sunday I found out, so I asked if he could have one last night as it's been a few weeks and I was assured he would get a shower last night if that was what I wanted. Physical Therapy personel were assessing him when Jill and W.B. went there to visit just after noon. He did some excercises in bed with his legs and when they tried to stand him he complained of being tired and then his B/P dropped.
:0( He is off most of his B/P meds. Gradually they will be reintroduced is what I was told by the V.A. doctors.
While I was there he even began to read his week old newspapers. A good sign. :0)
Michelle called us both from her hospital recovery/recoup suite. It's so NICE she wants to stay there. Everything from soup to nuts in design. She is in no pain and would love to hang out there, but will be shipped out today. Either Jill or I will go get her when she calls us this morning. Then we will bring her here......OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH less I forget, we have to stop by her house and get her dog Scamp and his food, etc. FIRST!!!
I shit you not! Another over active dog in the house.
This too, I will survive. :0) Could not leave my dogs alone for 24 hours. UNDERSTOOD!!!
So yesterday I came straight home and son randy was still working on the shed. Tracie had come and gone, but...she would return and THAT SHE DID around seven. Just before she came, her brother Marty that lives around the corner walked over to ask why she was staying here. I am doind her no favors he said, because other people are paying $1,200 a month for those apartments and they may turn her in as to not living there, except to come and get her mail. I informed him that she had a flood in her place and went home the night before. We did touch on her sickness ( hoarding) , It's NO SECRET!!! Yes, she is SICK!
As soon as he saw her drive into the driveway he headed for the back door saying he did not want to talk to the nutcase . Later she asked me why he was here and I told her he asked why she was staying here. " did you tell him it's none of his fucking business", she asked. I told her some day they would need each other and to not be harsh and then she went on and on asking me what he does for her now. sigh!!!
Just talked with hubby. NO SHOWER!!! WTF!
Someone just came in last night to cover him up. That WAS IT! I shit you not!
He had a Hellofa time trying to hang up the phone after we talked. Must have been a good five minutes of listening to the racket and him moaning in his efforts to hang it up. Finally someone came into his room and I heard her ask him if he wanted her to hang it up. CLICK. :0)
Someone pricked his finger while we were on the phone. 103, that's good she said. ( It is! ) Someone was coming back to take blood from his arm for other tests. I told him about Scamp coming today. He sounded like his own self when he said, " just what you need is another dog." ;0)
Looks like rain today. Completely overcast. I don't drive in pouring rain, a shower...maybe.
Tracie went home around ten after I stood while she sat at the table for some time. I was not going to make myself look comfortable. Jill had cooked us American Chopped Suey. I am sooooooooooooo off my healthy eating. :0( I gave Tracie the 2 leftover containers to take home. Logan loves it, BUT he won't be back in MA until the third of next month. I left him a message in Facebook and clearly I don't give a shit who sees and reads it. If you wake up all alone AGAIN and the house is on fire, SAVE YOUR OWN BUTT. GET OUT!!! If I know my 12 year old grandson , he will try to save Erzi no matter what I say or said. sigh!
W.B. just came through my bedroom saying " good morning" and proceeded to tell me he just worked from 9 last night to now doing Special Duty. Patrolling a Mall watching for fire outbreaks as some work was done during the night. CLEARLY ....Jill locked her outside door for a reason. Ya think!!!!
Then she got up to feed Cash and use the bathroom. While I fed my dogs and poured myself coffee, I glanced in her room. Saw his fireman's boots sitting on the floor and he was under the covers. WTF!!!
She emerges from the bathroom and I asked her WTF was going on. "He leave" she asked. Hell no, he's in your bed, I said and she proceeded in there.
Should I even mention here that my heart skipped a beat as I was startled by him coming into my room and I ALLOWED IT!!! For the life of me, I don't know why I don't confront him. Could it be that I too feel sorry for him??? I'm sure it's a little of everything. It has been over 2 years since she introduced him into my life. sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
His place is maybe 4 miles or so up the road. TO BE AUCTIONED OFF August 2nd.
I swear....if I owned a gun, I'd hand it to him. Well MAYBE, maybe NOT!!!!
I can hear them in her room talking, discussing. So far voices are not raised.
One of their good friends suffered a stroke last night and is on life support. Hubby worked for his dad years ago hot topping and we were friends with him and his wife who shared hubby's birthdate. John was five when his mother Jeanette died and he is younger than Jill. DRINKS LIKE A FISH!!! Just like his dad did. His dad was a fireman here in town and had a side business ( Hot Topping ) which John inherited when dad died. He just did my driveway back when I was in FL this past May. Was PAID of course.
Voices are rising in there. :0(
The day she came home from FL she got smashed at the Chinese place she and the person ( George) who picked her up stopped at on the way home. Then ....I ASKED another day who brought the RUM here ( that would be W.B. ) and more drinking continued around a firepit out in my yard.
Randy brought and was drinking wine coolers. W.B. got drunk and he spent the night.
He knows EXACTLY how to get in. Get her drunk/drunker and he feels like he is still in her life. He told her he will take whatever she gives him. Loves her enough for the two of them and maybe someday she will love him.
Sick,Sick,Sick. She tells him it isn't going to happen. It's not what she wants for her life.
He's UP. Was chasing Cash for his sock. Cash almost made it out my bedroom door to the back yard with it. He's still in full uniform. :0) Except for shoes and socks that is.
Cash has an inherited skin parasite she found out at the vets yesterday. Will be on med a month. Then another biopsy will be done while he is being neutered. Cost me yesterday and will again in a month. What can you do......animals can't be left to their own devices when the owners have no means to supprt them. sigh!!!
It's after 9 a.m. now. No call from Michelle yet.
I really need to be doing something. Besides sitting at a computer, I mean.
That's All Folks!

D D Good notes and a SOUR NOTE
Hubby looked MARVELOUS when I saw him in the nursing home around 4ish yesterday.
The only difficulty he seemed to be having was understanding and comprehending the nurses questions.
That's okay...I too had a problem understanding Raheesh ( if you catch my drift ).
He did have bad neuropathy pain in his legs and complained to me about his stomach hurting as well, but he ate his supper very well.
I could dwell on the fact that he had corn on his plate that he can't eat, BUT he is new there. Dietary doesn't know he has diverticulitis AND he knows what he can't eat and won't eat anything he can't. :0)
He has a room mate. I see no signs to gown up or wear gloves in the room. Nurses aides and the nurse do use gloves on everyone. Whether he is past the stage of passing C Diff on to others, I do not know. All I know and remember is that his treatment ( antibiotics ) ends August 2nd.
As I type, daughter Michelle is undergoing surgery. 7:30 a.m. was the Magic Hour. :0)
My House Guest went home last night. :0) Her apartment still isn't back the way it was. Rug lifted, industrial size fan left there that was used to dry the carpeting and pad under it, rug still lifted in that area and not tacked down and other things that are not as dangerous as to he being in there and falling.
She had an eviction notice on her door yesterday or was it the day before????? She tells me it's in regards to paperwork she got a week ago from the rental manager or ? asking about her deposits of monies in her checking account. ( The bonds that her mother bought for her ) They wanted that info IMMEDIATELY and a week later they EVICT her for not presenting it to them????? I don't get it. I shit you not! Not my problem!!!!!!! If anthing, I would say it's because once maintainance went in there they reported that she was a HOARDER. Last years inspection of her place they made her do ??? numerous times before they were satisfied and gave her another years lease. Oh My!!!
Now we come to W.B. aka Butchie. She has told him repeatedly she don't love him, they are not a two some, she will not take his mothers ring back to wear, she will not marry him and his chief complaint yesterday morning when he showed up around 7 a.m. WASSS , she was wearing a $49 friendship ring from Chris in FL and it was disrespectful to him and he wanted her to take it off. Wellllllllllllllll that didn't happen and finally he had to leave before 8 a.m. for his 24 hour shift at the fire station.
Then the calls came, both to her cell and the house phone. She blocked them. NEXT he came in one of the fire departments trucks as she was mowing the lawn and weed whacking. A fellow fireman was with him and he is calling out the truck window pleading with her, " don't do this to me" and both she and the other guy were shaking their heads. sigh!!! His station is not in our part of town....need I say more.
Now today before 8 a.m. when his shift ends HE IS HERE AT 7:30 a.m. knocking on her door. Next thing I know he is at my bedroom back sliding door. "Pat, is she home" he asks in a panicky voice. Me: yeah
Him: Oh I was so worried after all the nasty things I said to her yesterday and off towards her room he heads saying " I'll talk to you later." Meaning...she lit into him yesterday about him upsetting me with the shit that goes on between the two of them, I don't want to hear I'm sorry . I shit you not! If you keep repeating the same shit the words are EMPTY.
This brings us to where I am now. Much to do. Need to find out what hubby will need to have there in regards to clothes, personal needs. I will do his laundry here at home. It's just after 8 a.m. I think I can safely call him. :0) Calls to his sisters to make to put their minds at ease.

D D Long story shortened BY NOT MUCH
We never got him out of the V.A.Hospital ambulance pickup and drop off in front of the Spinal Cord Injury entrance/exit.
When I phoned him around 8:30 a.m. yesterday he was almost like his old self. :0) What a nice surprise. Talkative, without being promted. Sentences instead of "i don't know, yah, why." Told me he had just eaten pancakes and they were good. "How much can they mess up pancakes here", he said to me. Like ....you couldn't mess up pancakes.
Jill and I decided that we would leave home at noon and get a head start on getting him out of there.
The cleaning and dressing of him, the packing, his release papers hurried up. The discharge papers have always held us up at the time of any of his discharges.
We enetered his room just before one and he seemed and sounded good. Social worker came and said he would get the doctor started on his release paper work ( usually alot of pages that include his history and the meds he is on and in structions on his care. A nurses aide came in and began cleaning him and finally it was time to get him out of bed and into his transport chair. This was accomplished, but he was unable to bear any weight of his own as he could prior. We sit. He sits. Waiting. sigh!!!!
He complained of wanting to lie down and Jill said how about I take you to the car and ma can wait for your paperwork. Off they went. I began poking my head out of the door and looking for someone to ask about the paperwork. Once I saw someone, she said she would check on it. Tick, tick, tick. Finally I walk down the hall to the desk. "Give me 5 minutes, I'll bring it to you in his room." Back to his room I go and the aide is in there stripping his bed and removing things , etc. and I wait. Five minutes turned into fifteen , twenty and back to the desk I go and she said "nothing yet." Down the hall to social services I went and when Fred looked up from his desk, I told him my probelm. I'll see what's holding it up, he said. I had hubby's crutches and a bag of his stuff in my arms so i told fred I was going down to the car and would be right back up.
Once outside the doors I spotted my trunk up and as i tossed the things in my arms in there Jill said "mom.mom,he's slumped over and I can't wake him." I opened the passenger door and began yelling his name and shaking him. Eyes were rolled back in his head, no response and I ran back inside.
Code Blue was called and OMG what a response. Twenty/thirty personel rushed out and began to do what they had to do. First inside the car and then they managed to drag him out and work on him.
I stood inside the foyer out of the way as he was surrounded by people and other personel standing back watching . They got him up on a gurney, had all kinds of stuff on him ( wires) and came inside to begin the race to the E.R. Saw them stop in a wider area where a clinic was and do something with his mouth. I'm thinking they were inturbating him, but they were not.I heard him coughing. :0) Knew he was alive. They squirted a tube of Glutose down his throat I learned in E.R. Lots of people were working on him in E.R. , veins were collapsing, finally they got a line in on the back of his lower arm.
His blood sugar was 42. They needed the line in him to get more ? in him to bring it up to at least 80 I heard someone say. BOTTOM LINE. HE IS NOT DIABETIC and even they said it. They don't know what caused this to happen. Once stable they brought him back up to his same room where after five minutes or so he fell into a deep sleep. The nursing staff has medical names for these things. Before he fell asleep he was responsive. Didn't remember what happened, BUT did remember them sticking him with needles everywhere and it hurt like hell. His upper body has become very sensitive to any stimuli since he has been there.
Wellllllllllllllllll from what I could get as his doctor and other staff were in his room............new plan is to move him to that nursing home today BY AMBULANCE. Too much stimuli going by car. WTF!!!
I best hear what caused this to happen where I can understand it. I shit you not! I'm hearing pancreas this and that yesterday. We are as puzzled as you are Mrs.B. because he is not diabetic. HUH!!!!!!
If the paperwork was done on time ( 2p.m. ).....we would have been on the highway at 2:20 p.m. and quite possibly he would have died.
That's All Folks!
D D Yesterday was my son Randy's 54th birthday
But I didn't remember to say Happy Birthday to him beofre I left for the hospital as he was working on the shed and was gone before I got home. sigh!
Earlier this week I remembered it was coming up and he too mentioned that he didn't even know it until he went for an appointment and the desk person said, "oh.... you have a birthday coming up."
I did send him his card. :0) I lay the phone down now and can't remember where I put it and get so damn frustrated with myself. The more I search, the more anxious and upset I get.
Have I mentioned that I tried to change the tv station with the telephone?????? I did. :0( I shit you not!
Kept pressing 5 and the damned TV station remained the same. WTF I'm thinking. Then I looked down in my hands and saw 55555555 repeated and recognized it was my phone in my hands and realized what I had done . sighhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
Hubby was back from whatever Hell Pit he was in, but still had the Hospital delirium/dementia....whatever! Didn't remember a thing about the night before. Even had some confusion about seeing grandson Ryan there. sigh!
It's Oxycodone that he has been on for the neuropathy in his legs which is a form of Percocet
Not Oxycontin. Still a pain drug, I know. Still addictive. THX for all concerns ( you all know who ).
He refuses to eat or drink. "Why should I ( spoken resignately ) ", one time when I told him he needed to eat and drink. . Asked him if he didn't want to get better and come home and it was a resigned " no ". At supper time he told me to eat the shit on his tray if I thought it was so good. He ate breakfast, dinner, supper and this was his second supper and he didn't want it. Whoaaaaaaaaaaaa! He ate No DINNER, NO SUPPER and I doubt he ate any of his breakfast, but I wasn't there. His IV was removed because when the nurse tried to flush it, he screamed in pain. Swore and was swinging at her. I noticed it was in his other hand and was not where it was put the night before with the lab person saying as she finished her work, Last thing I do is sign and date it . This should be good for THREE DAYS. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm so I asked why it was moved already. The vein collapsed, I was told. Lab person came to remove it and before she did she tried to flush it and he went through the roof again. She told me there is only so many times you can stick a person and he was running out of veins to put it in. sigh!
He didn't say I love you back to me when I left. I asked him if he couldn't say those words. " Why should I", he said. Why not, I asked. No reply back. :0( With a heavy heart I drove home.
Didn't even get in the door and someone ( George (blek) ) and Jill pulled in the driveway. She was LOADED. They stopped for Chinese food down the road after he picked her up at Logan Airport to eat and DRINK. It wasn't no time before W.B. was BACK pleading with her to love him.sigh! I had Michelle still on my bed in agony with her back that needed to be driven back home. Tracie of course was here.
Today she MUST GO to her apartment. It's livable if the leak upstairs has been fixed. Rugs need to be tacked back down as the pad under it was dried with fans. Bathroom wall buldges in one area where the water ran behind it, but that don't stop you from using the bathroom. I'd want my wall fixed though as it wasn't rented that way. THEN my Randy comes back with his friend Debbie. He is going to PARTY. It's his birthday. At some point the light they fire pit and out comes the red cups, cokes and RUM. Who bought it??? Randy? W.B. ???? I began to see RED. I shit you not! It built up and UP. By this time it was dark ( almost 9 p.m. ) and I had just called hubby to tell him goodnight and I loved him. A nurse answered his phone and said they were just giving him his meds to take. I'll eait, i told her. Then she says to me, tell him to take his meds. I said honey, take your meds for them. He yells back," I don't need you to tell me to take my meds". Next thing I know they are telling him to swallow the water and he is gagging and choking and the line goes dead. That's when I began to lose it. I shit you not!
My fucking kids are partying ( one 54 and her soon to be 50 ) with no regard to my state of mind.
It's all about THEM and their good times. Tracie and I hadn't eaten and I grabbed my purse and Tracie followed. Randy asked me where I was going. I can't remember what I said, but I know I spoke my mind ( well like a crazy lady ) and told them this was NOT Normal. Families don't cause more stress like they were doing to me. Who's driving home Randy, I asked. Me, he said. I lashed back at him that he is drinking. STRESS for me. I was wild. The more he or she said the more I got angrier.
Hear me again I yelled. " he dies, I'm GONE." We no sooner pull out than Tracie says, I need to go to Bedford to my apartment for more pills. She must have seem me slump down and said that she didn't mean to add to my stress, but she needed her medicines. She drove, I ranted some more and the ride back to the Chinese place near me I was pretty much silent, BUT my mind wasn't. I 'm thinking that I should just go pack a bag , grab my two dogs and head to the motel in Bedford when I get home. Had one apricot brandy mixed with orange juice with the meal.
We come home to Randy and Debbie gone and Jill coming forward to the car to say she was sorry over and over. I accepted it and told her I loved her too, but I haven't slept well along with everything else.
Left her and the W.B. out there sitting at the fire pit.
Around 11:30 I told Tracie I was going to bed and she left my room and went to Logan's room for the night. She is still sleeping. I got up at 6:30 and it's 9 now.
Noticed the trash hadn't been put out so I dragged the barrel with cans, the barrel with papers and the barrel with household trash out. Then went and got cokes into a cold pack for the trashmen. Pulled a few weeds out at the mailbox and not too long later W.B. gets up. Make my DAY!!! Ply her with booze and you are In Like Flynn! I shit you not! They went to the V.A.Hospital to see him last night. WHO's car did you use was my first response to that. Mine he said.
Yepper, he was pretty much as I described. Was seeing flys buzzing around him and swinging at them. Saw one before I left him too and he had no Seraquill in him then.
OH, I forgot to say that I called the hospital back as Tracie and I drove away to see how hubby was. He choked on the COLD water. Oh yeah...Does not like cold water. Room temp only... Spit some of his pills out. She thought one was the Seraquill and the other a B/P med. Let his doctor know and they were keeping an eye on him.
This morning I have tried to call his room a few times and no answer. Called the nurses station asking to speak to his nurse and was put on hold. Held five minutes and hung up. sigh! I know they are busy people.
Never enough hands to do the work they have to do.
Jill tells me that Logan has been miserable on this vacation in MS. Wakes up and no one home. No Julie. Just him and Erzi in the morning. Julie goes to work with dad. FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Today She, Erzi and him head for FL to her mothers. Maybe it will be better there. sigh! Not coming back home until August 2nd. Wonder how soon it will be before they promise him the MOON and sucker him in again.
Jill is up and is dressed. W.B. is still here...I think. Would surprise me if he is not staying close by her side. Tracie is still sleeping and no answer again in hubby's hospital room. It's 9:15 a.m.
I must force myself to do something. Shower, putter, make my bed. Whatever!!!!!

D D One back....One to go!
Hubby is still lost out there somewhere. :0(
It was a hellofaday yesterday. I shit you not!
Michelle and I arrived at noon just as his dinner tray arrived. Long story shortened. He knew who we were, but still did not know that he wasn't home. Michelle got him to eat 2 slices of buttered wheat bread, ice cream, applesauce and he refused the turkey, squash and potatoes. ( taste like shit ) . Dranks some milk and some of the coffee we brought him. Grandson Ryan arrived and we decided to take him outside to show him his surroundings with his nurses approval. The entire trip from his room, down hallways and into an elevator Micheele would point out these things to him. Same thing once outside (in the shade.) Maybe twenty minutes into this he looked tired so she asked her dad if he wanted to go back in and he said he did. Traveling from the one building ( where the E.R. is as on weekends it's the only way to enter ) to his building and floor he got worst. Nurses needed a lift to get him back on the bed. B/P was 69/40 something.
Another long story shortened he was dehydrated. IV fluids were needed...no needle to put one was in his arm...another wait for someone from labs to do it...another wait for his nurse to come and plug it in,etc. Meantime he has no diaper on and after awhile he urinated himself and he became ( at a loss for a word ) and Michelle and I kept struggling to pull out the wet pads and put dry under him. Condom thingie nurses treid to put on him ( he is so sore in that area ) made him wilder. fungal power made him scream and try to get out of his body. It was horrid to watch. His eyes were wild , blank to those of us watching him dart them all around at the ceiling, hands constantly flailing or digging at his face and he DID NOT KNOW US anymore. He had begun chanting and this continued for hours. Frightened and wild eye expression as his body and hands continued to flail and twist. Doctors on weekend staff that have never seen him before came each time we voiced our concerns. ( Took quite awhile each time of course. ) They all summed it up to Hospital delerium. Then his B/P would shoot up 189/can't remember, pulse would shoot up over 100 and again a doctor would be called to his room. Michelle and I would take turns sitting on his bed and taking his hand and talk softly to him trying to calm him down. I finally asked them about the meds he is on. They STOPPED HIS Gabapentin and OXYCODONE days ago. I called my DIL Deb and had her listen to the horror scene we were witnessing. Drug withdrawals is all she has seen that sounded like what i was describing. Back to the nurse I go, another doctor ( intern ) would come. No, can't be. When i asked why they were stopped I get we wanted him on as less meds as possible until he was over the Hospital delerium.
His entire body including his face was hypersensitive. The nurse managed to get a tiny pill in applesauce ( seraquill ?) into his mouth, but not without a fight. Now the wait began and an hour later after being told ( give it 25 minutes, give it another twenty ). No change in him. Another doctor comes at our request. Was given another one. When we left after 10 he was still chanting ya,ya,ya,ya. Just not as loudly. They said they would put a jonny on him, hook his bed alarm up to it and get something on him so he won't be laying in his piss. His nurses were very nice to us. They are just so short staffed....sigh! Joanne told me to call her before she goes off duty at midnight. I did. She said he was resting better.
This morning I called at 7:30 and was told he slept, was still asleep. Asked her about FOOD getting into him as Deb said he needs protein. He wouldn't take a pill orally this morning so they are giving him all his meds in his IV. Told me that the doctor had been in to him and when i come up today we can discuss what their plans to nurish him are, etc.
I see no nursing home in his near future. Not for rehab anyway. No one would take him like this. My gut feeling is he will never walk again. Maybe get some arm strength back to be able to assist us in lifting himself higher on the bed or to change him. Maybe..........................
I WANT HIM BACK from whatever HellHole he is in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Went to change my bedsheets earlier and my envelopes with the money inside were there at the foot of the bed under the sheet. MISSING was the (one of a kind ....don't shop there often )in this house plastic back that I kept them in. So someone put the money there for me to find hoping I would think I lost it there. Of course not being in that bag was a dead give away. I know that it couldn't have been Randy now that took it. He wasn't here yesterday. Then again I really don't know how long it was there under that sheet from Wednesday when I last saw it to Friday evening when I looked for it. Haven't counted it yet. Been trying to get things done that I feel the need to do ( maybe am putting off the time I return to the hospital as well by doing these things.) Just quickly counted one envelope and all was there, so I'll assume the rest is. I will count it, but things are slowing me down. Randy just came to work on the shed and WB came lo and then asking if I knew her return day. He saw my car gone ( I'm sure he thought she had it and was off some where.) Pleaded his case after extending his sympathy to what I am going through. He loves her, blah, blah, blah. Not coming around to make problems. He needs to talk with her, blah, blah, blah.
I know Tracie said my Cheryl came for awhile yesterday. Left Tracie who agreed to stay and put the dogs out and watch my house while I was absent from it. My Cher has stolen from me in the past, but not the present. ( her teenage years)
Tracie....I don't know if she can be trusted either. I have never had her alone in my home like I have these past few days . Like yesterday when I left and other days since she has slept here when i walk outside to do things and only she is in here. So it leaves Cher and Tracie as suspects.
Gilby came to shower yesterday morning as the oil ran out in his dads house and he called dad and dad said he could wait until Monday for an oil delivery. Nice, F'N NICE of him. I did not leave Gilby unattended yesterday morning.
HOPEFULLY I have learned my lesson. Leave NO MORE MONEY laying around. HIDDEN OR OTHERWISE. I shit you not!
At some point this morning I need to call Michelle and have her bring my car back.
I drove into the hospital and she drove my car home in the dark and took it home as I could not have seen to drive her home very well.
Her husband's dad was brought home and will have 24 hour nursing care. Next Friday the day of her surgery her hubby has a commitment at a fair in ME ( brings his concession stand ) so he can't be here to drive her to the hospital and home again. I or Jill will do it. I don't know how she managed to do what she did yesterday. I imagine she is paying dearly for it today. sigh!
It's now ten after ten.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
That's All Folks!
