D D A little bit of this and that

Hubby has been being pleasant to Tracie lately and to her that means she can come over every night. sigh!
Wednesday she came over just as supper was being put on the table.
Asked if she could stay and eat. Jill had made 2 loaves of meatloaf, chicken legs, a beautiful gravy with sauteed onions and mushrooms in it, mashed potatoes, butternut squash . Yum !
Staying to eat is one thing...it's the long time she spends here afterwards that hubby gets pissed off about and I must admit I resent my hours being spent on idle chat when I would rather spend the time doing something else. Tracie is the same age as my Jill.
I do appreciate the times she gets me away from the house. We just don't have that much in common to talk about and she does REPEAT.
I forget how I got her to leave. May have hinted that I needed to spend some time with hubby.
Know she didn't leave without a prompt from me though..
Last night around 6 she was back again.
This time to see if I would show her her great nieces pictures on Facebook.
Looked at hundreds of pictures sitting beside me in my bedroom.
She had just mailed of a box of clothes to her neice for her great niece Jamie and here is the picture Jamie's mom posted in Facebook..

Lucky Jamie Beth. Lucky parents that don't need to shop for a long time.
This isn't the first time she has mailed off clothes and things to her.
My kids had very little clothing as infants and toddlers.Pretty much just the basics.
I did alot of my shopping at the Goodwill as each baby came along.
Not being exposed to anyone that had clothing from Baby's R Us types of stores and all those other goodies I was happy and thankful for my finds .
Today...............I'd be so envious of one year old Jamie Beth. She wore 3 birthday outfits on her birthday..
One was monogrammed. Jamie's first birthday. Cake and one candle applique on it too.
I would be correct in saying that my kids didn't have an outfit for every day of the week, let alone enough outfits to change 3 times a day plus seven.  Jamie does. Tracie keeps her well supplied in toys too.
Lucky little girl.
Like a lot of wives and mothers in the 50's , I rinsed my diapers out in the toilet.
Never had disposable diapers. Never had diaper service.
Began my married life washing clothes with a scrub board.
When I got my first wringer washer, I was thrilled.
How many times did I catch my maternity smock in a wringer ? Too many ! I shit you not!
Clotheslines, clothes pins. Lived in CA then, but I remember hanging clothes before we moved to CA from MA and clothes pulleys and frozen clothes. Frozen hands too.
I remember my great grandmother, Nana Thomas stretching her cutains on a frame she had to dry after she hand washed them. Bluing is another thing I remember.
My mother use to give us pieces of coal , a glass jar, amonia and food coloring and we would put the coal in the jar and put amonia and food coloring over the coal and beautiful thingies would grow on the coal.
If I thought long enough I might remember the correct word, but efff it!
We called them Coal Castles. Each day we would check to see how much they had grown.
Coal...shoveling coal after the coal truck dumped it down a shute into your cellar.
Those wall heaters in CA were a sight to behold when we moved there. No furnace.
Houses were on slabs.  No muss, no fuss. Just turn a switch.
Okay...I'll leave Memory Lane and come back to the present time..
Took off for a few hours with DIL Kim to the Christmas Tree Shop.  Got me one of those Perfect Brownie baking pans for $7.99. Not that we make them often, but when we do we now will have a choice of nuts or no nuts all in one pan.
Bought Thanksgiving and Christmas napkins and disposable table covers.
Okay...will just say that my tab came to $59.99 and spare you the details. :0)
Then we went to J.C.Penney Outlet and I shopped some more. A queen sized set of sheets were marked from $49.99 down to $24.99 and I scratched a price thingie off the clerk gave me.
It was for 30 percent off more.  Microfiber sheets ended up costing me $14.99....I think!!!  What a deal!
Doesn't take much to make me happy....I shit you not!
Of course that's not all I bought, but again I'll spare my fingers this time.

Made an error on Logan's Progress report. He didn't get a Fair for his Effort in Social Studies.
He got Good for Effort. If he had have turned in those 3 assignments it too would have read Excellent in Conduct as his other classes did.

Once again it's nearing the end of the day.
Time to fill the skunk pans up and feed ole hisser Charlie.
Jill worked four hours prepping food this morning and has a 60th something or other to cater for the Sons of Italy Womens Auzxillary tonight.
That should keep her out of trouble for awhile.  sigh!
In a few hours it will just be hubby and I at home.
Logan is going to Dracut and will be home tomorrow night.
What to fix for supper is my next challenge before I can call it a day.
Turned the heat on an hour ago. Hubby was cold and I could feel a chill in the house myself.
First time for the heat to be turned on.  Time to cover over the A/C unit in the back yard for the winter.
I'm going to go stand in front of the refrigerator with the door open and stare in there just like kids do.
Maybe I'll find something to make.
Certainly won't find it sitting on my arse in front of this computer.  I shit you not!

Now this site isn't allowing me to preview before I post.
No smooth sailing.     Looks like we hit another rock. :0(

D D Yawnnnnnnnnnnnnn

It's been that kind of day.

Spent some time checking out what the wind could blow around  and filling bird feeders outdoors in the nice warm breeze this morning.
Had made an 11 oclock chiropractor appointment and of course it began to rain before then.
Getting hubby out to the car is a joint effort and because he moves very slow we both get wet.
One of us more than the other.
If you are thinking moi... you be correct.
The rain had slowed down as we were leaving there and I headed the car towards the set of lights just beyond the street we live off of.
Hubby asked if we could have Chinese instead of going a few miles further for seafood.
Absolutely.........our favorite Chinese place to eat is maybe 2 miles from us.
Filled our bellies and headed home in the rain.
My thought was ....naptime.
Had to wait in the car in the driveway for a down pour to pass, but finally made it inside and had an hour to nap . Kept our outside bedroom door open and fell asleep listening to downpours and gusts.
Logan came home excited.  Jill was at work and he called her to tell her his progress report was A in English with Effort being Excellent
Math A- Excellent ,  Science A Excellent  , Social Studies A-  Effort Fair ( 3 of 14 assignments were not turned in on time), Art A Effort Excellent, Reading A Effort Excellent.
Credit where credit is due. Jill heps him with his homework if he needs it, she goes over it with him, makes sure he put his name on his homework papers.
She puts everything together for him in his backback before he goes to bed. If not then, she does it in the morning.
She lays out his toothbrush and the toothpaste to use before he leaves for school in the morning, choses what he wears to school and helps him put them on after his shower.
She did this for her other 2 sons as well.
In that way she reminds me of myself.
She missed going to Open House at his school last night . It was 6-9 p.m.
She and Butch were in no condition to go to a school meeting when they finally came home at 8.
Her answer to Logan when he told her a couple of his teachers were looking forward to seeing her ( she was a student there too) was. " I went for Gil. That's what he said too. No one even acknowledged that I was there."
Poor baby.....yeah she went there for Gil because she wasn't drinking then.
Back then her kids came before anything else.  :0)
Know Logan wanted her to go and meet his teachers, but damned glad she had enough sense not to.
I suspect she even forgot what day it was.
Monday thru Wednesday she stayed in at night and of course so did Butch.
Not that they didn't have a few drinks during the day.
She didn't mention to me what the date was, but I know she never forgets. Neither did I mention it.
Was prepared to tell her I didn't need to get loaded to get past the date my mother died.
She is working prepping food today.
Will she come home after work orrrrrrrrrrr head to the bar.  sigh!

Just remembered. Logan needed to draw a picture of a ferret as part of his school project for next Tuesday and took a picture with my camera. I had left it out on the kitchen table.

Look at those eyes................need I say more????

Hers weren't much better.

Looks like the comic pages have gone the way of television.
Looks like we need a rating on the front page before  kids read them.
I shit you not!

The rain stops and starts. It will be so like moi to go to the grocery store when it pours.
Been procrastinating., sooooo what's new!  I'm really good at that.
Been looking at cookie recipes and Cheesecake cookies look and sound delish. Need the cream cheese.
Not that I need them. :0(

Okay...darkeness, rain and moi do not go well together when I drive.
Dusk will be here before I know it.

That sentence before last........ does a comma come before the word AND?
I always thought I did okay in English.
Then realized as time went by that puncuations are not my forte'.
Logan tells me that he has been taught that a comma comes before the word and as in:
Okay....darkness, rain, and moi
He got a great grade in English...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Can you teach an old dog new tricks?  Maybe, maybe not!

D D Real Life

Watched Dr.Phil yesterday. On Tuesdays the show is called Dr.Phil's Housewives
This group of women he has living together under one roof sure have different baggage.
Seems we all carry some baggage.    Some more than others.  sigh!
Wonder what his books read like.  Real Life has piqued my interest and the book Self  Matters that he is having these women read chapters as homework until next Tuesday's show .   We sure can beat ourselves up over stuff .
Most of those women I can empathize with.    One............NO!
Maybe as the show gets deeper into each ones baggage,  my allegiances will change.
Wish I had followed it from the beginning.
Oh well!
Checked out his books and ordered a few.
Am wondering what I can learn about myself that I don't already know.
Jill once loved to read.  Maybe she would take away something from these books that will be beneficial to her.
Needed a coffee refill and overheard  her just tell Butch that every day they are apart she feels better about herself.
She told him to go home last night and he did. Now he is back begging and pleading.
I was right about Saturday. It was him she was on the phone with telling him to stay the F away from her.
Sunday he went up to the catering shop and waited for her and young Gil to get through with that 40th anniversary and return to the shop to unload the truck.
Then he pleaded his case to her. Broke. No food.  No cigarettes. No gas.  No this, no that.
I love you...don't do this to me... don't kick me when I'm down.  WHATEVER!
I feel sorry for him myself, but I didn't get him into his mess. He did!
When Butch isn't working he just wants to play and drink.
Yesterday she was bitching and moaning that he smokes two packs to her one and she is buying.
I heard her mutter as she went for her purse.....efffin leech.
Piqued my interest and I inquired as to who.
Why do we women do some of the things we do?
Wish I had that answer.
What's this...everything happens for a reason?
I find myself wishing for quiet time and keep reminding myself that I may get that wish and wish I hadn't.
Hubby turns the TV on the second he wakes.
When he has been in the hospital I have gone for days without turning it on.
Jill's TV is turned on when she is home.  The livingroom TV goes on in the morning when Logan gets up for school.  Use to be cartoons...now news.
Think I remember that it was a must,  when I was in school to follow current events.
Five minutes past two on weekdays he is home from school and eating a snack and watching TV.
Then it's XBOX  when his friends come over.
Three tv's going at the same time .....washer, dryer, outside noise, dogs barking when someone comes to the door or they spy Charlie.  Voices, laughter, cell phones ringing, house phone ringing, foot steps, running, front door opening, front door slamming shut, shower water running, drawers opening and closing, fridge opening and shutting.
Sometimes the din is over bearing and my nerves are frazzled.
This morning at 5:30 Ginger spied a skunk outside our bedroom door. She jumped off our bed and began barking as she raced to the screen door.  The skunk just backed away from the door , but did have it's tail raised.
Up I got and quickly shut the glass door.
I can't put the head phones on to listen to a video without questions being asked or comments made to a program hubby is watching and I think he is talking to moi.  Asking me for something or just making a statement for whatever reason.
B/P raises, temperment gets shot to Hell.
Then I quickly tell myself....be careful what you wish for... loneliness is something I haven't experienced, but have heard and I'm quite sure it can be even worse than the noise I gripe about.  sigh!
Can't win I guess.
There was a time I on occasion would go to Mickey D's  with a book and my Tab to drink and order a burger.
Park my car towards the back of the lot and roll up my windows and read and eat IN Peace and Quiet.
Can't remember when I didn't read while I ate.   I drown out all the noise and get lost somewhere .
It's a standing joke around here how some of my family members would add food to my plate and I woudn't know it.

Randy is on his way here to help Jill put the lawn furniture in her storage unit.
She has had this unit since her divorce. Did have two units, but has parted with furniture and kitchen things through these ten years . Began paying $80 a month, then $90. Recently it was raised to $100 a month.
These units are kept heated  to I'm surmizing 65 degrees.
I have only been in one unit once and don't know what things she still hasn't been able to part with.
It can't be full as my lawn furniture went there to be stored last year too.
She discovered today that Charlie the cat has been sleeping up under the tarp I keep over the love seat with the cushions piled up to keep them dry.
Charlie ain't no dummy.
Already my mind is working on what old lawn chair I will put an old cushion on and cover with a tarp until the snow falls and he moves inside the back shed.  :0)
Remembered to block the shop vac's hose openings this year so the field mice don't build nests with the inside filter inside them.  The little shits can be so creative with their nests and nest materials. :0(

Been reading complaints about the New Editor and more than one person looses their entire post before they can post it. Disappears into thin air...so it seems.
How frustrating that would be. I shit you not!
Sorry about the loss of your hardwork to help me out  Aunt Amelia's Attic.
This kind soul typed an entire HELP article for me about what she has learned about the New Editor and POOF.
Bless her soul...she re-did it in parts and sent it piece by piece in fear of loosing it again.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I will print this out for future referral.
Hope this issue is resolved by the time I change over....if ever.  sigh!

That 2nd sleeve I was working on yesterday.
Got to the cuff where I switch needle size and had only 22 sts. on the needle.
There were supposed to be 24 stitches.  Tore it out back to the beginning and am almost back to where I was. sigh!
Notice my tension in this sweater is a little off here and there.
It's a wonder that every row I knit isn't off with the upsets and disturbances. Oh well...could be worse.

This day in 1986 I was spending my last day with my mom in the room that is now Jill's bedroom.
Knew when she stopped coughing up phlem and the tissues we laid on her breast so she could reach them never were used that it was a matter of hours.
As I laid beside her late in the night or early morning her last words to me were ," I'm leaving."
I asked her where she was going.....no answer.
With that I told her and God  that he could take her home as it was selfish of me to want to keep her here.
Seven something the next morning...September 30th she passed away.
My mother left me with wonderful memories of her. What better gift than that could she have given me. :0)

With that I will think back on some of my memories of her in my mind and feel her love for me.
We both knew the love we had for each other and she worried to my kids that I would fall apart when she passed away.
Mom... I was strong...

Mom and Dad taken on their 50th wedding anniversary May 11th, 1986.

She had been DX'd with lung cancer and told she had 6 months or less to live.
In the following 4 months, my mother went from 200 lbs down to 100.

Love you mom. You too Dad .
......but you both know that.

D D I think I hit Pay Dirt!

Spent a few hours last night playing around with this damned picture thing.
OMG!!!! What a relief. I feel like I won the lottery!

Referred back to  Blogger Help Notes AGAIN and AGAIN and finally one sentence smacked me between my eyes.
Clear Cache and Cookies.
BINGO!  SHAZAM !  OPEN SESAME!

I SHIT YOU NOT!   It's magic.

I now have the same ADD IMAGE as Gabi and I suspect other bloggers.

Thank you so much to Gabi, Mary and the nice lady that lives in Aunt Amelia's Attic for their help and concern. XOXOXO

Walla!!!!!!   TinPan the skunk and Charlie taken a few afternoons ago.
It wasn't dusk yet, but TinPan comes out from under the shed  to get first choice and then goes back under the shed til dusk.
Jill named him that because he sits in the pan to block others from getting any food if he/she has competition for the food.

Logan keeps trying to talk me into getting him a Beagle.   :0(

His mom picked him up the Webkin beagle for a Christmas gift.  :0)
I'm sure he won't be amuzed , but he still likes Webkins and he will love it.

Son Randy came from NH  and worked putting new flooring and shelves under my kitchen sink all afternoon.
Then I unloaded the 2 boxes of my cleaning products , etc. under there and arranged them where I wanted them.
Decided to use the Stainless Steel spray and clean the sink while I had it in my hand.
UT OH!  Spied water running out from under the sink.
Seems like Randy had to have loosened a drain pipe as he was moving around under there working.
Butch was here .....he fixed that problem and wiped up the water.
I was more than a wee bit sore from being down on the floor putting stuff away.
Getting down on my knees is what I find is the most difficult  .....that is when I feel my age.  sigh!

Logan hasn't been feeling good. :0(    First it was a sinus headache.  Jill gave him something for it and soon after he fell asleep on the couch  and slept and slept.
She woke him for supper and he declined.  Went to his bedroom and fell right back to sleep and slept except for one pee call around 3:30 a.m.
She got him up for school...he showered and next thing I heard was silence.
I fell back to sleep until 8 and hubby woke at 9:15.
Logan is  in bed....sound asleep.
When I asked about him... had the chills and didn't feel good.
Knock on wood....which I just paused to do.....in all these ten years he has lived with us we have not caught a thing he has had.  AMEN!

It's a new day ...albeit overcast. Looks promising.
Myself and Blogspot are friends today. :0)
All is well in my world.
Going to pick up my knitting. Working on the second sleeve of Krysta's hooded sweater and I love the color. Watermellon.  It will compliment her skin coloring.
Maybe I can get a picture sent to me of Ryu and Krysta wearing them .  I'll ask.
That's All Folks!

D D Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Picaso has not been nice to moi

One picture at a time... in a new post every time I upload a picture.  Gimmee a break!
Posted by PicasaThis was the sorry ass sight in the basement that my son Randy encountered.   UGLY!!!
He took many more , but just one will have to do for now.
Have to re-edu ma cate myself .When I can make the time or have time to waste as it's been so far. sigh!

Got out of bed this morning .....and hit the floor running.
Neighbor passed away and his wake was from 9 to 10 a.m. and then off to the church for his service.
Hubby wanted to go as he and his partner/friend came to see him in the VA Hospital and always stopped by to check on him at home.
Nice Polish fellow. Leonard Ogonowski age 82.
It was his nephew that was one of the pilots that died on 9/11.
Was raining out , but you do what you have to do .  RIP Lenny.

Logan called me to tell me they were starting their walk home. Told him to stay put, threw on my robe again and went and got them.
We got to the Outback around 2:30.
Now the fun begins.   Are you hungry I am asking.  Logan decided he could eat cheese fries.
Erzi on the other hand was turning his nose up at everything on the menu.
Here is the hungry test that Logan gave him.
Erzi, can you eat a bowl of cereal? To which he answered yes. He's hungry Logan said.  :0)
Knew he wasn't hungry, but ordered him kukuburro wings.
Erzi also does not like butter or cheese. That's different.  I shit you not!
Logan ate half his cheese fries . Dips them in Blue Cheese dressing which he loves their brand of.
Erzi ate one wing and the celery sticks served with the wings.... dipped in Ranch dressing.
They didn't even want dessert.  They were more interested in the Patrios football game and getting home.
Took a picture of them there ( just remembered ). If I try to upload it now, it would be in a new post. sigh!
Another day.
All I get when I click the picture icon is a large blank space with the words ADD IMAGE at the top of it.
Like where the hell did the browse space go that I once had????
I would click on that and it would give me a choice before, ie; documents, pictures.....
I DO NOT LIKE CHANGE!   I shit you not!

Jill and Gil came home from work sometime around 7:30.  Then she went out for an hour to the Moose.
It was a 40th anniversary they worked.  I had thought it was a 50th.
They had everything from soup to nuts a few times over.  The cake had chocolate covered stawberries on it.
This is one cake I'd like to have seen.  A bakery made it.   Jill said they did a good job on it.

This would have been a good day to stay in bed.....if one could.
I hear the next few days are going to be wet so I have another chance .  :0)
Benefit of being retired    old.
Damn...I talked myself into a nap.  I shit you not!
We have a chiropractor appointment at 3:20 p.m.
Yeah.................need to rest up for that.
That's All Folks!

D D Welllllll SHIT!

So okay....now I have Picaso whether I want it or not. :0(

Don't feel like playing around anymore today with this crap.

This is not a vision I have seen with my own eyes.
Must be something I downloaded from lord knows where.
Water running over falls or streams is what is pleasing to my eye and if I could hear the sounds it makes... that would be frosting on the cake.

I lied.
Tried to get the pic's that Randy took down in the basement up here.
All that time spent for naught.
Frustrations...frustrations.
It's making me crabby.  I shit you not!

It's a turn the other cheek day for moi.
Babysitting Erzi so that young Gil can work catering a 50th anniversary party of 150 here in our Elks Club with his mom and a third person.
People have said I'm crazy.  Erzi is just a kid and has such a mixed up life with his mom always off in some other state or at her job.
Don't know yet what was so imperilous that she needed to fly to see her mom in FL on Thursday.
In August she drove to MS with the ex SIL from Hell and stayed 10 days.
And so on and so on.   Erzi gets palmed off on young Gil, the neighbors or us.
Logan, Erzi and Kenny are playing XBOX 360 at the moment.  Hear their voices getting excited every once in awhile.
Jill said as she left that Logan can watch Erzi while we go out to eat as he babysits him when he is at his dads in Dracut.
I don't think so!

Last night I had Logan call his mom around 20 minutes of eight.
He wanted Dominos pizza . I wasn't buying.
Had already handed him and Kenny a ten dollar bill each for brunch and supper.
We had things he could eat here, but he wanted pizza from Dominoes.
Nana has a soft spot for Logan....BUT no pizza delivered.
She chose to come home and cook for all of them. :0)
Know she worked hard, BUT  R and R time was over.
Butch helped her clean up...saw him washing dishes.
Most of the evening I was in my bedroom which is also our den, livingroom and even has a small college type of fridge in it.
Hubby lays in bed and watches tv and maybe gets a glimpse of the back of my head...I say maybe because the back of my computer chair is high.
I can see the tv screen and at night I can see it in the mirror reflection on the window in front of my computer screen without turning my head.
Home Sweet Home.

Slept good last night and after Lady did her outdoors business this morning,  I was able to nod back off.
The kids had gone out to the trailer around 11.
Never to be heard from. :0)
Wish I could remember my entire dream . What I did remember was amazing.
It was a production put on outdoors on a stage and I saw a performance like nothing I have ever seen.
It still seems...like I saw this on tv recently, but I know I didn't.
People were playing dual roles ...and, and, and.
By the way.....I have heard that we don't dream in color.
I say Bull Shit.
I have always had color in my dreams.  I shit you not!
Maybe dogs don't see in color....then again...maybe they do.

My Cheryl called me earlier. Shayla is still sick and has been to the doctors a few times.
Has lost 5 pounds. Runs a fever at night and has thrown up bile three times during last night and this morning.
Dana  will take her to the emergency room today.
All her blood work has come back negative.
Trevor's new shoes arrived yesterday and she said that he loved them and kept trying them on.
Bought one pair a half size larger than what he wears as kids feet grow so fast.
Good thinking on my part I heard from Cher....yep nana has lived a few years longer.

Okay ......softee nana just fell for the I'm hungry and so is Erzi bit.
Just drove them to MickeyD'zzzzzzzzz.
Once again Logan wanted nothing in the house to eat....what his real desire was ..a bite to eat  and go to the play thing that is a few feet away from MD's.
After they play there when the money I gave them runs out...they will walk the half mile home.
Fair deal Logan said.  It's just one street they have to walk and not a busy street that we live off off.
Rural. The road runs along the Concord River. Over the years homes have been built on most every lot and the few that were camps when hubby lived here since the late 1930's  are now made into year round homes....including the one we live in. This area has always been called RiverPines. I have a picture of what our home once looked like that I will have to post when I figure out how. sigh!
On the other side of the river are all the businesses.

It's nearing one and I'm no closer to being ready to go to the OutBack.
I'm hungry ...but then again, when am I not!
The kids say they eat like they are bottomless pits. They do, but they are much more active than I.
No more procrastinating.
Going to get up off my arse and get myself ready. I shit you not!
That's All Folks!
