D D How many idjuts did I raise

My son was a BAD boy again yesterday.
Hubby and I retired close to midnight and he still wasn't home.
Like my DIL says....it's the drinking and driving she worries about.  sigh!
There are alot of dynamics going on between the two of them.
She left him and took a year lease on a condo on water months before we came here two years ago .
Only used it alone a few weeks.
Took a years lease on a huge new home ten months or so before this visit from us and got out of the lease when she bought the trailer in North Port.
She loves him, but has told me she won't hesitate to walk out again.
MEN!!!!!  He's a damned FOOL !
As I said before.,..he retired at age 40.  Had made alot of money as an electronic engineer and in the stock market and whatever else his intelligence rewarded him.
Now just does computer system restores and the likes for small companies , has his hand in real estate and some other things.
NONE have medical benefits and this is where the problem lies.
For DIL Deb to add his health coverage to hers, it would cost $650 a month and she isn't willing to do that when he is an able bodied man who can WORK like she does.
Do I blame her................NO!
He won't see a doctor. He has been told he has high blood pressure :0(
As Deb says ....he is jeopardizing ALL that they have worked for all these years should he end up hospitalized. :0(
I don't know anything about high intelligence, but what my son has in smarts...he lacks in common sense.
I shit you not!
How do you talk to your grown kids and make them see what you have learned ?????????
True...DIL Deb is an over achiever, but he has known that for at least twenty five years.
She earns the money for everything she buys. Pays her credit card off each month .
He paid cash for this house and she paid for all the furnishings.
Most men ( I think ) would be envious of their situation.
It's almost nine. Haven't seen him yet, but Deb headed up to St.Petersburg to a nursing home facility to do wound care an hour ago. Hour drive each way. Company car, company gas. She gets a brand new Toyota Camry this month and her company car will go to the new person hired last month.  SWEET.,...as the kids say nowadays.
Sonny is usually on the couch in front of me by 4 a.m.  hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Hope he has a hangover BIG TIME!  I shit you not!

Hubby is still sleeping.  I'm sitting here listening to the waterfall.

A sore spot with Sonny. He wanted to build it. They picked out the stone and purchased it two years ago.

In two years time he had the cement base and rebarb supports in.

Deb wanted it done in her life time and had lost two years of enjoying it, so she hired a man well known for creating waterfalls and paid for it out of her own earnings.

She has said that Sonny could have done a better job, but she was tired of waiting.

The sound coming from it is indescribable. Love it!!!

Is this a thorn in my son's side ? Oh well.  She often asked him to get more done on it and he chose not to.  sigh!  MEN!

I'd like to take him over my knee. I shit you not!

D D Quick updates

Lost another 2lbs. 6 ozs.  :0)  Wish they were all 5-6 pound weeks.
Who wouldn't?  If I did more OUTDOOR walking I'd most likely lose more.
DIL Deb tells me that the 18.2 that I've lost in 7 weeks ain't HAY though. ;0) 
I do feel better about doing something about my weight. I shit you not!

OT signed off on hubby today.  His aluminum shower chair on wheels that arrived Tuesday assured her that he will be safe from taking a fall in the walk in shower here.
One down...two to go. 

DIL Deb made my reservations for May 4th to go back to MA. barring any unforseen problems.
Have had to change them twice already.

Talked to Jill today. Countertop work is almost completed and a new deep sink and faucets have been installed.
Looks like the W.B. might be good for some things.
Randy cleaned my yard of branches and leaves.  Snowstorm expected, but hopefully it misses.

Tampa had a bad storm and tornado's were touching down up in that area earlier.
Plenty of damage there and in surrounding towns.
Sarasota still hasn't got the expected winds and rain. 
Storm warning for this area is 2 to 8 p.m. and it's 2 now.
Deb and Sonny just left to go look at a boat to buy.  Didn't even know they were interested in owning one. They have ski doos and a canoe.
She worked like a whirlwind around me this morning.  The house is all neat and tidy.
Tomorrow she does her regular wound care visits to nursing homes and will be gone all day.
When she has a day off she does not sit, nor does she sit most other times except to do business work on her computer. 
YUH! I feel guilty sitting here........sigh!

Still have to help hubby with his shower until we go home, but now I don't have to worry about him falling trying to get in or out of the walk in shower.
That's my next chore today.....  help hubby shower.  A little late, but better than never.

Know I'm forgetting things. Need to keep a scratch pad handy to write KEY WORDS to get the LIGHTBULB lit in my head.

D D No rest for the weary

The first part of  January I began to have pain in my arms when I laid down and it STILL persists.
Wake numerous times during the night with pain that feels like a BAD toothache halfway  between my shoulder and elbow. No joints there and I don't have the pain when I am sitting or standing , so it can't be arthritis.
Have an appointment that DIL Deb made for me April 8th with her Primary to establish myself a doctor while we are here for myself and maybe he will have an answer for me. Maybe.................
Get a lousy nights sleep and most times I hit the couch at 3:30 just so I don't toss and turn and disturb hubby's sleep.
Not that the pain goes if I lie on the couch.......sigh!
My son is usually asleep on the other couch or watching TV when I get up and we both doze off now and then til daylight comes.
It's been his habit for years. The past three or so years he wears a sleep apnea mask IN BED.
On the couch...No.
I'd like to blame this on a mattress, but while my grandsons is older, mine at home is just two years old this April and the one in North Port looks fairly new. 
It CAN'T BE the mattresses !
Both hubby and myself haven't been adjusted by a chiropractor since we left home.
 :0(
We both need it BADLY.  I shit you not!

Hubby's left foot has alot of swelling in it that concerns the visiting nurse. 
His blood pressure is dropping. Was 100/64 yesterday .  Another concern of hers.
He has been taking his fluid pill at 6 a.m. and does gripe LOUDLY that he wants to stop taking it as he pisses every fifteen minutes he says and worries that he won't get to the bathroom in time. 
He chose to take it at nine when he got up this morning so he could get some extra Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
Maybe I won't have to hear his usual "what the fuck are you trying to do to me" today.
So far....so good.
The nurse wants him to get a doctor here, but he can only have one Primary doctor through the VA and he sees him in Massachusetts.   DIL Deb is calling the VA Clinic here today to see what they suggest he do about his swelling and B/P.


FINALLY his pain med arrived from the Boston V.A. Pharmacy by Fedex or UPS yesterday. I ordered them the 23rd along with some other med's and the others came last week by REGULAR mail. Go figure!
I can breathe a sigh of relief until I order them again on April 18th.  Every 26 days I can call to have it refilled. It's lousy when the 26th day is a weekend or holiday. 
At least now I still have some of the ones his doctor at the rehab place relented and gave me an RX at Walmart's Pharmacy. :0)

Showered and dressed while he was sleeping.
Had some Weight Control Quaker Instant oatmeal ( flavored ) with sliced strawberries for breakfast. 4 Points.
Think I blew any weight loss yesterday when I ate my leftover bowtie pasta dinner from Valentini's.
Can't remember the name of it, but it had roasted chicken strips, broccoli , tomatoes bowtie pasta and was cooked in an oil with garlic and ??? 
It was so yummy Saturday .  I ordered a small salad without cheese or croutons and my dressing on the side before I DUG INTO IT.   Didn't want to stop eating it, BUT I did.  :0)
Now I finished it off. :0(
We need to shop for the makings for salad today. We are OUT!

Had a good T Storm early yesterday beginning around 3 a.m.  It was needed. It was overcast most of the day and today the sun is in and out too.  Highs in the 70's.  No complaint here. ;0)

Myself and my chubby dog Ginger need to walk the cul de sac today.  Sunday I pushed hubby around it so he could see the neighborhood.  Earlier Ginger and myself hoofed it. 
Then back to help hubby take his shower, Gets mighty humid in there. 
Hope that shower chair on wheels arrives soon or SOONER.   I know................poor me.;0)

D D oopsie... Thought I had posted this

Forgot to mention I lost another pound and some ounces at weigh in Wednesday.
While it's not as big a loss as the week before it's still a LOSS!
Warning! Stay away from Tirimisu.   I shit you not!
I'm back on track so far this week.....So far so good. :0)
Ate Wheaties this morning with some Simply Smart milk product. Wheaties,1 1/2 cups equal 6 Points, 1 cup Simply Smart is 1 Point and I added sliced strawberries 0 Points. Total 7 Points.
Noon I made 2 grilled cheese sandwiches. Used 4 slices of Weight Watcher's wheat bread, 2 Points each.
Non fat cheese 1 Point each.  Sliced tomatoes 0 Points. 1 Tablespoon salt free butter 3 Points.  Total 13 Points. I erred. Thought the bread was 1 Point each or I would have had JUST ONE sandwich.
In between breakfast and lunch I ate a 0 Point orange. 
Have 10 Points left for supper and I can borrow a few from the 47 Points extra a week you are allowed IF NEEDED.
ALWAYS eat your daily 29 Points or you won't lose weight.
You need fuel to burn the weight says my DIL Deb. 
To date ( well Wednesday evening )...I have lost 15 lbs and 6 ounces.  Hip Hip Hooray!
I have to learn the HARD WAY.  Could have lost even more.  I'm learning :0)

Hubby's brother Frank, our SIL Marion and their grown son Bryan ( our Godson) will be driving down from Leesburg tomorrow to visit us. :0)
They live about an hour and ten minutes away inland above Orlando.
It's been a few years since we have seen them too. Two years ago my son drove us up there to visit with them and took them out to lunch.
Hubby's brother has had two back surgeries and has been in some terrible pain for years even with a variety of pain med's and patches and the likes.
Just the other day he had his first of three spine injections and is feeling only slight pain and feels able to ride that distance. Their son will do the driving. :0)

OT was here this morning. We still have a problem with hubby being able to take his own shower so I ordered ONLINE a rolling shower chair . It's on wheels that lock and is aluminum.
Medicare will not pay for it. Presently if you are bedridden they will pay for a chair like this that also serves as a porta potty and it is ordered as a bedside porta potty. 
Hubby isn't bedridden. Thank goodness....I'll pay the $169. No shipping charge. The company is in Boston and we should have it here by Wednesday. Thursday at the latest.
Meantime I will help him into the walk in shower. We tried the tub in the other bathroom yesterday. What a fiasco. He laid the shower head thingie down and water was all over the floor in there.,
After I sopped it up with towels, I had a load of wash and did the water laden shower mat/rug at the same time.  I was pooped!  I shit you not !

Just helped him shower....I feel like the Last Rose of Summer as the expression goes.
Hair frizzed, sweaty wilted feeling.  Wore out ...pooped.
He says to me, " we can just do this everyday while we are here and not buy thast rolling shower chair.
NO WAY!   Told him "TOO LATE"  It's a done deal!
Some vacation for me......just to save a few bucks so he can take it with him when he dies is my guess.

Today is my DIL Deb's 50th Birthday. Just another day to her she said when I wished her Happy Birthday this morning.
Beats not having one I replied back. ;0)
