D D No time like the present time

to type a few lines.
It's nearing noon.
P.T. arrived at 11:30 and is working with hubby as I type.
No free days to just do whatever my heart delights. sigh!
Some vacation......but what can you do. Roll with the punches and go with the flow. ;0)

My son is off doing some work. Real estate? Computers?  He will be gone most of the day.
DIL Deb is off doing her patient wound care and will be home after one.

We made a dry run to Walmart for hubby's pain med last night.
A refill of fifteen pills was NEVER called in.  :0(  Made a call to hubby's visiting nurse at nine this morning and she will get to the bottom of the WHY. He only has enough for today.
Ever since he left Rehab I have been stressed about these dang pain meds.
The doctor that visits the patients there never wrote him an RX for pain med and he had to be called before we left to have him call it into Walmart. He called in 15 pills the first time. Whoopie!.  Three days worth.
IF THERE EVER IS A NEXT TIME ....I want his RX for pain med in my hand days before his discharge date.
 I shit you not!
I did call the VA in Boston and they got his primary doctor to okay a months worth on Monday.
When they will arrive....I KNOW NOT!
Meantime, I get anxious and STRESSED.

Some shit has been happening at home, but that can slide by.
I just don't feel comfortable watching my DIL doing housework when I could have or COULD be doing some.
Even before she left for work at 8:30 this morning she had dry mopped all the floors and there is ALOT OF SQUARE FEET in this house. I shit you not!
While I would love to post everyday, I just don't feel right sitting on my ass at my computer.
There are some things to be said about HOME SWEET HOME.   Kapeeeeeesh!
Since P.T. has left I have been getting shit about his med for him to eliminate urine. sigh!
He wants to quit taking it as he wets his pants before he can get himself to the bathroom.
Just told him I didn't think it would be wise.

It's nearing one....  must post and help hubby with his shower.  These bathrooms are not set up for someone like him and OT wants changes.  Having grab bars all over a shower is not something my son and DIL bargained for....I would think.
Meantime...I can't leave hubby alone to hit the ceramic tiles.   I sit in his wheelchair after I help him onto a Rubbermaid lawn chair and wait until he needs to get out and dry off in his wheelchair.
Probably even with grab bars it wouldn't be safe to leave him alone either. sigh!
Something to be said about HOME SWEET HOME and cheap press down tiles on the floor and a fiberglass tub and enclosure.
We have grab bars.
Less DANGER!

D D I'm back!

Couldn't let this day go by without thanking everyone for the BIRTHDAY WISHES.
It was wonderful and so is everyone. :0)

That's All Folks!

D D I had my cake and ate it too

Being with my brother and SIL on my birthday was the icing on the cake. :0)
They came Sunday afternoon from Jacksonville, a two hundred and twenty five mile drive and left yesterday afternoon. :0(
Speaking of cake..... my DIL Deb remembered me saying that I like tirimisu and bought a WHOLE tirimisu cake at an Italian bakery. :0)
Weigh in at Weight Watchers is tonight. :0( If I lost a pound this week it will be a Miracle. I shit you not!
We went to a Chinese buffet for my birthday lunch. sigh!  Didn't stop at one plate ....but DID only take maybe one cup of tapioca pudding with two slices of peaches on it. Yay for me !
Last night around four my son took me to the Sarasota County Fair.
Not much there to see, but I did some walking. :0)
At six he was hungry and ate french fries. I had a small bowl of chili. Let me tell you this much.......it sure wasn't your home cooked chili or Wendys. More like a spicy tomato paste with a few beans and even fewer pieces or burger. Nasty stuff, but for a good cause. Proceeds go to scholarship funds.
Would I eat it again................Hell No!
My son's friend Dougs daughter Christine " sorta kinda " raised a steer for 4 H.
I say "sorta kinda" because as with most things.... we the parents end up doing most of the work.
That's just the way it is........................................
All last week Doug was busy walking the steer so that she could handle him in the judging ring.
The steer did end up putting her on her ass ( maybe all 90 pounds of her) ( 1153 lbs. of Damion the steer) , but she still got Second Place for the overall shape of the steer and less fat.
Poor steers win ribbons and come Friday will sell at auction and go to be slaughtered. :0(
I could not raise an animal for slaughter. Could it be ....that is the reason the parents do the raising of it? Maybe!
From the time we walked through the area these steers are kept,  right to the judging arena, I felt like I was attending a funeral. :0(

Hubby had a visiting nurse on Sunday and Monday. She comes again today..
OT came Monday and will be back Friday. P.T. came yesterday and will be back Thursday.
Seems like every day is something.
Hubby has had a couple of morning spells where he gets into the bathroom using his crutches and then his legs want to give out on him and he calls out to ANYONE that can hear him ( usually me) that he needs his wheelchair before he falls to the floor.
Just minutes ago was one of those times.
What's causing this...we do not know.
My morning has begun....make that.... my day.

D D It's my birthday

and my brother Larry and his wife Judy drove down from Jacksonville to spend it with me.:0)
Think he said it's 225 miles from there ...to here.
We chatted past midnight last night and how I woke so early this a.m....I do not know.
DIL Deb has left for work and the rest of the house is sawing zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.

P.T. assessment was ten to noon yesterday and this morning at 10 someone wll be coming to work with hubby on his walking .
Yesterday was hectic and so will today be.
My brother thinks I'm doing pretty good for an OLD BROAD.
It's been two years since I saw them and he says I haven't slowed down,
Judged by my walking....I'm assuming. While my steps haven't changed,  my energy level sure has.
Got him fooled.....I shit you not!
This is going to be a GREAT BIRTHDAY.
I am anxious for them to wake up.

That's All Folks!
