Being with my brother and SIL on my birthday was the icing on the cake. :0)
They came Sunday afternoon from Jacksonville, a two hundred and twenty five mile drive and left yesterday afternoon. :0(
Speaking of cake..... my DIL Deb remembered me saying that I like tirimisu and bought a WHOLE tirimisu cake at an Italian bakery. :0)
Weigh in at Weight Watchers is tonight. :0( If I lost a pound this week it will be a Miracle. I shit you not!
We went to a Chinese buffet for my birthday lunch. sigh! Didn't stop at one plate ....but DID only take maybe one cup of tapioca pudding with two slices of peaches on it. Yay for me !
Last night around four my son took me to the Sarasota County Fair.
Not much there to see, but I did some walking. :0)
At six he was hungry and ate french fries. I had a small bowl of chili. Let me tell you this much.......it sure wasn't your home cooked chili or Wendys. More like a spicy tomato paste with a few beans and even fewer pieces or burger. Nasty stuff, but for a good cause. Proceeds go to scholarship funds.
Would I eat it again................Hell No!
My son's friend Dougs daughter Christine " sorta kinda " raised a steer for 4 H.
I say "sorta kinda" because as with most things.... we the parents end up doing most of the work.
That's just the way it is........................................
All last week Doug was busy walking the steer so that she could handle him in the judging ring.
The steer did end up putting her on her ass ( maybe all 90 pounds of her) ( 1153 lbs. of Damion the steer) , but she still got Second Place for the overall shape of the steer and less fat.
Poor steers win ribbons and come Friday will sell at auction and go to be slaughtered. :0(
I could not raise an animal for slaughter. Could it be ....that is the reason the parents do the raising of it? Maybe!
From the time we walked through the area these steers are kept, right to the judging arena, I felt like I was attending a funeral. :0(
Hubby had a visiting nurse on Sunday and Monday. She comes again today..
OT came Monday and will be back Friday. P.T. came yesterday and will be back Thursday.
Seems like every day is something.
Hubby has had a couple of morning spells where he gets into the bathroom using his crutches and then his legs want to give out on him and he calls out to ANYONE that can hear him ( usually me) that he needs his wheelchair before he falls to the floor.
Just minutes ago was one of those times.
What's causing this...we do not know.
My morning has begun....make that.... my day.
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.
I AM WOMAN! Hear me ROAR! February 2012
WARNING !! Not for those with a short attention span. ; 0 )
Your updates aren't showing up on my sidebar for some reason and it's so unusual for you to not post for two days I came here and found you HAD updated. Blogger must have gremlins.
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed your birthday.

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a lovely Birthday.
ReplyDeleteAbout hubby, is he getting too much "work" done, on/with his legs? Are [legs] getting too tired out?
What does his PT person say, about these 'spells'? He did not have any, in facility? Just home?
OK, OK, I'll stop now. -grin- But not before saying that I missed your daily update. See, you get us used to a daily update. Then we get with-drawl symptoms, when you fail to produce. -giggles-
You life your life, as it works out for you. Blogging is not an earth-shaking part of it. But I figured, you'd still like to hear that you were missed. Geeeeeeepers, at this age, we get little enough notice, hu? If someone misses us, tell us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
Oh and -chuckle-, you continue to be a year older than I am, for today and tomorrow. ,-) Just had to put that in here, while I STILL can say it. :-)
Gentle hugs...
