D D memories of long ago

Last night moi accomplished one of the things she keeps putting off.  Cleaned off ONE kitchen counter.
One out of four counter tops.  tsk, tsk, tsk.
Had everything piled on the kitchen table when an old friend / ? came to the door.
She has been stopping by for a short time unannounced every once in awhile, since her husband passed away.
Once upon a time we were very friendly...........she  and her 2nd husband were our witnesses to our marriage in 1977.  She doesn't remember standing up for us.  Keep meaning to show her a picture.
Mary has Alzheimer's............each time she comes it's almost like the first time. Asks me what is in the cage in the parlor and  when I tell her again and show her, it's like the first time. Ferrets, how cute she says.
Before Logan's pet rats died, it was the same thing. What's in that cage.. rats, Ohhhh they are so cute.....are they tame, etc., etc. Same with the dogs     Will they bite me if I pet them.... Sad!
She lived on the next street with her first husband back in 1967. Our yards were back to back.
She drives around all day long picking up things people have thrown away or ??? Told me yesterday she can't stand to stay home. wastes all her social security money on gas for her car and food for critters. Just drives around all day long and makes sure she gets home to her cats before dark.
Didn't leave a light on in the house for them she usually explains as she rushes out.
Mary will even stop to pick up a dead squirrel from the street and place it where it won't get run over again.
When I apologized for the pile on the table she told me hers was so bad you can't see the top of it.
She has told me on past visits that my house looks like a palace compared to hers.  Huh ???
Clutter, clutter, clutter in the living room.... Child World, tubs of Logan's favorite things , 2 wrestling rings, a tub of wrestling men,  a tub of beach towels for he and his friends to grab, a tub of all kinds of balls, XBOX games and 4 controls, all kinds of board games, numerous ferret supplies ( my clutter lol ), the paint supplies Randy left sitting in there for when he gets ambitious to paint the bathroom, kitchen and  my bedroom. Pounds of dog food left for Cheryl by Michelle.
Cher says her dog is fussy...may not care for dog food of any kind.   Charlie and the skunk inches apart last night.
Hope she don't want it..... the skunk loves it....I shit you not!  crunch, crunch, crunch.
Looks like that glass door needs a good cleaning.. A TO DO !

Tonight I will put out a can of dog food along with the dry.
Getting back to Mary...she told me her youngest daughter ( lives directly behind me now ) took pictures of her house to send to the tv program Hoarders. Admits it's as bad if not worst than what has been shown on the program. One narrow path with boxes piled high that you can just get through in every room in the house .Even to her bedroom.  When I mentioned someone would help her clean up...she said she wanted everything she has.... okay... end of that conversation.
Not getting rid of anything....so sad.  sigh!
My clutter drives me crazy and I rather stay at home. We are such opposites.
Her kids use to call me Dear Abby.  Mary was always on the phone to me...my ear/ears would be in pain from the pressure. She was a talker like my Cheryl... even if I said I had to go pee, it was ignored.
BUT if either of them have/had a reason to hang up......BANG!  I shit you not!
Mary and Art married the same year as us and she sold her home to her oldest daughter ....with her and her hubby came a large breed dog that barked viciously if it even saw movement in my bathroom window.
Grandkids were terrified to go out in the back yard. It would charge the fence repeatedly all the while barking like it wanted to take your head off.
A few years later it died and they claimed it was poisoned.... moi who puts spiders outside instead of squishes them????  Keeping in mind that there is neighbors on both sides of that house as well as mine in the back. Heard hubby was blamed.  Not him!   Years of silence from Mary .Her youngest daughter moved in a few years after.   Three years ago moi read in the Elks bulletin that her hubby was in a rest home not too far away.  Hubby wanted to see him, so I drove him there and  with her it was like we never had a 20 + year seperation . Except she can't remember that we were part of her memories of the Bruins team back then amongst most everything we did together. She goes on everytime she comes about going to their homes and Polcari's where they dined in Boston.  Moi made cakes for some of them. Giles Gilbert' (probably spelled wrong) birthday cake. , Ace Bailey's first child's baptism.  Ace's given name was Garnett.  He died in that field on 9/11.... Lots of memories of the teams players back in 1967.  Went to the games on occasion. Art had season tickets right behind the Bruins net.
Ken Hodge's going away party at Carouso's Diplomat....
Here I am going on and on.  LOL   Moi lets her talk and listens.
I'm a good listener !  I shit you not!  lmfao true,true,true... make up for it in here...hahahaha
Mary doesn't have a phone.....doesn't stay long as she can't sit still.... moi remembers all 5 of her kids names...she doesn't remember mine... tis okay.  Sad, but okay.  This is as far as I want this to go.
Tackled another job this morning that's been put off too long. Took everything out of the ferret's cage to wash. Hammocks, sleeping beds.....everything.  Ferret hair galore and of course that musky smell.
Doesn't bother me, but hubby complains on the rare occasion he has to pass by their cage. ( to the front door )    That's what Frebreeze is for, isn't it ???  Only if I rememeber to race ahead of him and give the room a spritz. ( keep in mind hubby detests any of those sprays, plug ins, etc. ) His sinus' are really what detests them.
If moi plays her cards right, there is still time to go out to work in the vegetable garden plot before the Outback.
Can't wait to be able to pick fresh tomatoes and cukecumbers.  Only one in this house that eats tomatoes is moi.   Neighbors win...  Hubby and Jill both have diverticulitis... Jill never liked fresh tomatoes anyway. Logan hasn't aquired a taste for them yet.  King crab legs, scallops, haddock, steamers are what his taste buds picked up on. We cut the seeds out of the cukes and 2 seedless tomato plants that moi started from SEED  are up a few inches.... this will be interesting.
Took Tylenol p.m. and slept much better. $4.89  Market Basket price is highway robbery for 24 pills, but moi gladly paid it. WalMart list is growing. Will get the desire to drive there ...when?
Throwing on some rags and grabbing a Tab to take to drink with me.
That's All Folks!
