D D Like daughter, like mother ????

   Know some things will be left out. Sometimes there is too much to remember or remember the sequence.
The rain continued to go from a mist to a down pour yesterday.
Took hubby to the chiropractor when it was misting out.  He was able to get about on his crutches, albeit painful.
   No sooner were we home and inside when the rain got heavier. Went to Jill's room and asked her if she had plans. Told her there were things I needed to shop for and asked her to drive me to WalMart. She knows her mother doesn't drive in rain..
No problem.... away we went for a few hours.  Got lots of stuff . Logan needed new summer shorts...size 18 are slightly big on him and size 16 are slightly tight.  He is a growing boy and in that stage where he is always hungry.
Know she helped me in with the bags ....at some point noticed her gone.
Came back with Logan at 2:10.  Dropped him off and away she drove.  i asked him to be quiet as nana and Papa were going to nap. His friends piled in and we did doze off until they got noisy, which was about an hour later. 
   Around four p.m. she came back and started preparing supper. Fixed fresh green beans & carrots and put them on to start cooking. Put a top of the round roast in the oven, peeled potatoes, set a package of au jus out with water in the pan,  set the table and asked me to turn the potatoes on at 5:40 and off she went.  Came back 6ish and finished draining and fixing everything to be served.  The four of us sat down to a very nice supper.  As the two of us were cleaning up the table and doing dishes she asked me if I wanted to go to the meat raffle.  Knew it was either at the VFW or Moose, so didn't ask where, just said yes.
Went to tell hubby where I was off to. Expected him to react like he did in his HAY DAY ...."don't come back, if you do".  He did make a comment coming  as a joke " now you two will be a mother daughter team."
She told me on the way that I didn't have to drink booze, just relax and have fun for an hour or so, she would only drink one drink and get me home safely.
We got to the Moose when the 4th raffle was about to start.  Had her buy me a mixed drink..they had no apricot brandy, so it was a Fuzzy Navel ( peach brandy and OJ. ). 
   Moi won that 4th raffle. 10 lbs. of chicken.. I shit you not!
Waited other games, but the killer was I was waiting on the 4th card called for the 3+ thousand.
You get 3 playing cards that are laminated together for $1. Or 6 sets of 3 laminated  together cards for $5. You cover the card called from a deck that has been well shuffled and cut.
This drawing has to be won in the 1st five cards called to win the JackPot .. If not won in 5 cards called it gets carried over and the prize goes down to $40 .
Needed the 7 of diamonds to be called in just 4 cards being called. My heart rate increased. I shit you not!
Boo Hoo, didn't win.  No one won the top prize this week.
   If it sounds like moi enjoyed that 1 1/2 hours out.....she DID!
Will she go again.... she will, if asked to go......unless hubby makes waves.
Saw so many people moi knew from around town  and some from another town we lived in 45 years ago,  not seen since they were kids living next door to us. Mother was an alkie, now I'm told one of the twins I saw is. 
   Nice sunny day today. The hairdresser cancelled our haircuts. Had surgery on her elbow and will make another appointment after she gets her doctors okay.
   Butchie came by after work and handed me a note that reads:
What? Am I going to have to keep my eyes on you too now!
Laughed as he walked away...saw me smiling.
Got called to go back and work overtime while he was here. He accepted. Will wonders never cease.
Logan had pancakes for breakfast with bacon a 2 sausages. More MCAS today. He wore a pair of new shorts and rode his bike slowly as she followed behind him up the street.
She usually walks with him or drives him. Up until this year he never walked home or to school alone.
Most of the time he still is accompanied by her, not always.
   It's going to be a warm day.
Which means the pool will get used ...Not by moi or other adults.  Water is too COLD!  I shit you not!
 Evenings have been in 40's past few days.
  Oh, forgot to mention that the Moose building use to be the Idle Hour 45 + years ago. It's where moi met hubby when he was bartending as a second job.  The ex and I use to go dancing there...moi would have a few and the ex would drink beers in my eyesight and grab a shot when he went by the bar to the bathroom.
Towards the end of out marriage he would grab whatever people left behind at closing time and swallow it down as we passed by the empty tables on the way out.  Yuck!    How low, they go.
  He was like Jekyl and Hyde ....once drinking you saw the ugly side.... got so moi slept with a bottle opener/ can punch , held in my hand under the pillow... for protection if he went off crazy like he had in the past.
   Just got back in from lunch and shopping in WalMart for things still on my list and things not on my list. LOL
Felt guilty on the way home being gone so long from the house.  Will get over it.
Had a nice relaxing time with Barb. The time flew by.
No white car in the driveway when I pulled in. Hubby said she left when I did.
Thought maybe things might be turning around for the better. ...oh well.
81 degrees...Kids just went in the pool.   Need to keep my eye on them and their horse playing around.
