Dear Diary A sad time for daughter in law Deb

Got a call this morning from kid#6... Louis ( I always called him Sonny ) called to tell me his wife Deb's father passed away Friday. Shocker!!!! Jim is a good 6 years or better younger than moi and when I last saw him he looked great. Lost weight, which was needed for better health.  Was found dead in bed ... Spent his winters in St.Pete, FL and from May to early November he lived in my neighborhood.  Before I gave up on going to bingo, Jim would call and offer to drive me.. Knew I didn't drive at night, so it was much aprreciated.
Spent a month in FL at Deb and Sonny's March of 2009  and we all celebrated his birthday at an OutBack.
Plans are being made to have his body brought back here. Wake and funeral will follow.
Been making calls to my kids and a good friend whom he always sat with at bingo. Barb also spent a week one winter at his place with him. She too was shocked to hear the news. Someone had just asked her when Jim would be back up from Florida.
Watched Florida wildlife  on USTREAM last nite and early this morning. Check it out!  A bear this morning eating corn....crunch,crunch,crunch. A flock of turkeys came after the bear left.... squirrels.. Last night the infra red camera was on.  Lots of raccoons eating peanut butter and other goodies. One lone possum trying to get some food, 3 deer way in the background... The night time sounds were something to hear. Calling all nature lovers to that site..This guy spends alot on food for the critters. If you have a buck or two to spare, it would be much appreciated.   . A must view.  I shit you not!
Nearing noon... Grandson Logan's sleep over friend got up after 10 and Logan made an appearance sometime close to 11 and is sound asleep with his throw wrapped around in in the parlor chair.  Don't know what time they hit the hay.. Moi did after 11 and woke a few times when I heard the fridge open or some other noise. The two of them did the same thing the night before..up half the night.
We have to guarantee the friends mother 2 nights over or he can't stay.... have you ever heard of this?
Parents sure are different than when I was young.  Moi thinks it's just this one mother. Other kids in the neighborhood have slept over 1 night.
Talked to my grandson Trevor when I called to tell kid#5 about Jim passing. Trevor has autism. He is a love.  Many of us in the family knew that Trevor had some problem early on, but mom gets ugly if anything is said about her kids to her. Would listen to his dad say how cute it was the way he amused himself opening and shutting the fridge door. Here he would turn the tv on and off repeatedly.. Fill in the Etch a Sketch and scream if it was erased and go right back to filling it in again.  As luck would have it, somewhere around when he was 2 they took him to a Chuckycheese place. There he proceeded to constantly lock and unlock the high chairs provided there. As told by them, when they looked around at what the other kids were doing ..it hit them that something was wrong with his actions. Made an appointment with his pediatrician...seen by others in the medical field ...Early Intervention was begun.  Moi can't say enough about that program. They deserve so much praise for recognizing the early years are most important if caught then..
Trevor is  high functioning , but will never be able to live on his own. Moi shouldn't say that..maybe there will be more break throughs in years to come. He is so smart in some things..like reading. Was ahead of his cousin that is a year and 3 months older than him in reading.  He speaks like a small adult and has for some time. July 17th he will be 10. He thrives on attention and because of his autism he is so innocent in the ways of the world. Told me all about his school trip to the Museum of  Science and him and dad are going to the movies tomorrow.  It's school vacation week in MA. beginning tomorrow.
Hubby is in the shower. The rain ended this morning.  If feeling up to it he likes to go to the OutBack for the 6 oz. Speicial, medium well.  Moi likes the same. Occasionaly we get medium rare. Him, salad with no tomatoes, cukecumbers or cheese ( honey mustard dressing ), sweet potato with nothing on it.
Moi, a salad with nothing omitted ( thousand island dressing ), a baked potato with everything on it.  Been good the past few months..was getting a 2nd evertything on it.. I shit you not!
Kid #7 Jill is on her way out the door to the Moose installation.. Sleepover friend is eating a tuna sandwich, doritos and has a coke in his hand. Logan is still curled up on the parlor chair asleep.  Mentioned to her we would probably be going out to eat. Go ahead, she said.  My reply back was I didn't think the kids mother would like the fact that they are left alone.  Couldn't hear her comment as I was walking back in my room.
Silly me, like what could possibly happen with 2 eleven year olds home alone ???????  My grandson Logan babysits his 7 year old step brother on Fridays when he is at his dad's house for an hour or so until his step mother gets home from work.  Maybe I'm just being a worrying nana. He's a good kid, but still a kid.
That's All Folks!
