D D Day 53 and the sad tale of the swordtails

When Logan came in my room the other night to tell me that I needed to come see the setup fish tank after eleven two nights ago I was not ready to see the swordtails swimming in it. :0(
Right away I wanted to ask why they had been put in there, but didn't want to bust his bubble.
There stood the W.B. too, all proud of his handiwork.
On the tip of my tongue were questions.....like was any chemical added to get rid of the chlorine.
I admired it and returned to bed.
Yesterday morning after I woke I went to look at the fishtank.
NO FISH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Was I surprised............NO!
I went to Jill to question where they were ( the bodies ). One was removed earlier ( found floating on the top ) and the other two ?????
Later when Logan woke he found one in the castle and the other one is still to be located.
So I'm asking Logan why I had two gallon jugs of water under the kitchen sink.
He tells me that I had them for the small fish tank. Why I ask....I hear him say the word " chlorine".
Uh Huh!
Then he says, " but I used them Nana".
Out of the mouths of babes.  sigh!
My reply  back to him, " I didn't have 35 jugs of water under my sink."
"OH", I heard.
There were chemicals to get the chlorine out of the water too and the dumbass W.B. let him just put the swordtails in that untreated water. :0(
NOT ONLY THAT!!!!!!!!!!!! But he put the table I had Jill buy together wrong and the drawers won't shut.   @@@#^%&##@
We DID NOT NEED another big piece of furniture in the livingroom as it was.
Personally, I didn't care if this 35 gallon tank over hung Logan's bureau. I bought two heavy wooden bureaus when his brother lived with us. The top of one of them would have been perfect, BUT NO.
This needed to be enjoyed by everyone I was told, so I relented. sigh!
Logan tells me he set the screws in too far to change it around so that the drawers will close.
I haven't confronted either one of them about that YET!
It will be one more thing for hubby to confirm his low opinion of W.B.
Yep, he's as useless as tits on a boar hog     I AGREE!
I never saw his face yesterday.....plowed for the town from 7:30 a.m. til sometime in the afternoon.
Saw Jill pass by my room with her coat on around 4 and out the door she went.
She had been snowblowing and shoveling and using the roof rake for hours before that and had come in , cooked , showered and dressed.
I looked out the front window just in time to see W.B.'s truck and plow pulling away with her in it.
Heard her come in the front door minutes before eleven p.m.
Noticed a half gallon empty bottle of rum in the recycle box yesterday. :0( There was a time when they bought the smaller bottle.  sigh!

The ferrets smelly shit box was cleaned by moi and they got food and water yesterday AND ALL THE DAYS BEFORE!
Through the years we have had a variety of animals and birds, birds and more birds.
A canary . Goldring pheasants, bunnies, wild ducklings that we set free when they wre grown, parakeets ( hubby made an indoor aviary and was selling the babies ), same with cockatiels. My baby brother gave me a severe macaw one year and another a dusky conure. I raised an almost featherless Robin and had it for close to three years, cats, kittens, dogs. Guess who had the honor of feeding and cleaning them???
CORRECT!
Oh and less I forget the hampsters, gerbils and rats.  Oh and chipmunks that I saved from being eaten by our cat. If I spotted the cat with the chipmunk in time..that is.
Successfully raised 3 squirrels.  The first time was back in 1967 and I was a novice at it and this one bought the farm. :0(
I'm missing something or SOMETHINGS here...I just know it.
Fish and goldfish come to mind too along with the birds that hit the glass door that get the wind knocked out of them and I keep warm in my hand until they get stop spinning. ;0)
ALL MINE !!!  When it came to feeding and cleaning them pretty much.  LUCKY ME.
All in all I guess I was and AM.:0)

Yesterday's new snow falling

Cardinals and junkos in the Rose of Sharon bush.
The view I saw yesterday where I sit at the computer

and....................last night when I let the dogs out to pee and I raised my head up after making sure no skunks were about, this is what I saw.

A FULL MOON , which appeared much larger and BRIGHTER than this in the photo.

Beautiful sunlit day today.    Everytime I try to get a shot of a Cardinal that lands on the bush, it takes flight.
My arms are tired trying. Another day...............
Tried to get one of a hawk in a tree in my neighbors yard yesterday too, but it wasn't co-operating and with the snow falling it blended in with the background.

A new day.... it's UP and AT IT time. Well beyond that time ...actually.
Keep wondering why my coffee is cold.  I forget I have it and peck away here. DUH!
Hubby is putting his week of med's together. He insists on doing this himself.
Does good at it even with his shitty eyesight. :0)
Of course the reason he insisted on doing this himself doesn't wash with me anymore.
If I was 15 minutes late he would get upset. 7 and 7.. He sleeps later than 7 and he forgets himself and can be an hour late. ;0)  That's okay then.
One less thing for moi to do... I'm not contesting his decision. :0)  I shit you not!

Logan is still sleeping. He didn't go to Dracut last night. Something about his stomach not feeling good, but he ate like a trooper and was still awake at 11 when his mother came home.
Must confess.....he and I were at that fish tank changing things around and adding things. Also I added the chemical to rid the chlorine.
A little more time and we can check the chemicals with the whatchamacallit son Randy bought to do this and then slowly add fish that are compatible.
Definately NONE of those beautiful Angel Fish.  I remember something about them when I had them years ago and it involved eating other fishes fins off if my memory serves me right.

Jill and the W.B. left  with the grocery list from Wednesday around 10:30 a.m.
Let's see how long this takes them. Kind of early then for the bar to be open...but not now. sigh!

That's All Folks!

Someone's Pet Name for moi....Daff...Daffy... If the shoe fits.. WEAR IT!
I shit you not!

awwwwwwwwwwwwww

  2. OMG what an idiot WB is. Wish I could send over some indestructable comets for Logan's tank.
Lovely snow pics, we were gazing at the same moon my friend (at different times obviously).

  4. He didn't even ask? Didn't even know that water from the sink is going to have chlorine? I hate to ask how much those fish cost. Not like the 50cent ones I bought, for sure.

  5. I had a 250 gallon salt water aquarium when I lived in FL. It was the divider wall between the kitchen and the living room. I loved it. My oldest son used to watch the fish (we had a lepord shark, dragon eel, clownfish, groupers, an octopus, red and white striper, and many damsels) when I fed him in the high chair. I miss the tank alot, but I do not miss the maitenance and price tag. :) Maybe someday, when I don't have to clean up after kids any more. :)
