D D .it's.............hubby's birthday!!!!

Happy 74th to hubby.
It was 1936 and Thanksgiving Day.  Instead of a turkey dinner, his mother had this bundle of joy. See, I can be nice.

He is Irish through and through and has the temper to  prove it. I shit you not!

Jill and I survived another Thansgiving and we GIVE THANKS for that
Peeled and diced all the vegetables. Squash, turnip, green beans, carrots, potatoes.
Made a cranberry sauce from an online recipe and put the turkey in to bake.
Jill did the rest ...stuffed mushrooms, fresh veggies and dip, cracker and cheeses, cashews, pistashio nuts, chips and dip, fresh fruit bowl, gravy, 2 kinds of stuffing, canned cranberry sauce, bisquits, drained and whipped, mashed and seasoned the cooked vegetables, plus 90% of the cleanup.  Just like last year and
the year before and the year before and............  I shit you not!
Credit ....where credit is due!
I couldn't do it without her help.
Sally my DIL brought a spiral ham. Kim another DIL brought delishous pies she made herself.
Loved that peach pie. ( had some with my morning coffee) Next size pants..here I come. :0(
Patrick my nephews spouse made a homemade spice coffee cake, someone Jill works with made her pumpkin pie ( won't give me her recipe.) :0(
Everyone left by 6 p.m. and that's when Jill finished up wrapping up leftovers and breaking down folding tables.
My two grandsons Derek and David went to their dads.  He did all the cooking. They say his wife can't cook.
Derek stopped by for an hour on his way home to Rhode Island.
Each year Jill works her ass off to put out  a nice meal and I mean WORKS HER ASS OFF!!!
Only sat long enought to eat a little of the main course and that was it.
Butch began calling her this morning on both her cell and the house phone.
Was trying to make her feel bad that his daughter thought she was eating here and was sad.
It didn't move Jill. Told him not to call.
He apparently doesn't want to be DONE like he said the night before and the month before and some months before and a year before, etc, etc.
Let's see how long she can last without giving in to his pleas.  .Here's hoping it's forever.
Around 6:30 she went out for cigarettes and had 2 drinks .
Came home at 8 and heated herself up some of the leftovers and hit her bed right after she ate.  .
My oldest son Jay was not feeling well and did not look well either.  He's 57.
Where have the years gone?????
His breathing is labored because of his huge stomach.
I'm worrried about him.  sigh!
Knock, knock came around 3.   Tracie.... Not all of us were through eating.
Her sister did not cook a thing!
When Tracie went there expecting to eat she was told by her sister Tina that she was sick.
No Thanksgiving dinner after she took her grocery shopping and paid for groceries. :0(
I told her to fill a plate and take a seat.  We had PLENTY !!!
Hubby nor anyone else seemed miffed about it. Thank you muchly!!!!!!!
Tracie has no phone so Tina couldn't call her if she wanted to and her cell phone was out of minutes.
Probably wouldn't have called her regardless. Tina is an alcoholic and probably had a hangover.
Speaking of which.  Jill never seems to have a hangover. :0(
The secret is to drink lots of water after you have been drinking, so I have been told.
Apparently no one has ever told this to Tina.

Black Friday and I am staying home.  Never was one to go shopping on this day.

Scrooge lives here.

This song has been running through my head ever since I heard it in an email...........................

Chet nuts roasting on an open fire..............................

WTF  !!!!
If he had half a brain he'd be dangerous.
He's probably the same guy that has Santa peeing from the rooftop.

Grandson Ryan carving. Jill in background.
Ryan caught me taking his picture.  Gil III in background.

Gil III standing. James, Logan and Erinn on the couch. Logan's friend Kenny in a chair.
Patriots football game on the TV.. Our team won. W2G Patriots!
My new clock on the mantle with the pendalum not moving.

Jill , some of the food and turkey carcasses.

Logan gave thanks and thanks and thanks. He has no fear of speaking before a crowd. :0)
Others gave one liners and others took off and made themselves scarce, both in giving thanks and pictures.
:0(

Another Thanksgiving Day bites the dust and all in all it was a good time, but alot of efffin work for some of us.  I shit you not!

When my kids were at home, I did this by myself Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.  sigh!
The Old Grey Mare ain't what she used to be!

It's 9:30 a.m. Hubby is still sleeping.
Watching us work must have worn him out...ya think?
No,.............. it was lack of NAPS during the afternoon.

Buchie just called Jill's cell.  She didn't answer it.
Fridays are the day he needs her to cash his paycheck as he has ZERO funds in his bank.
She's expecting him to just show up....as is his way.
Will send him on his way...she says.

My Cheryl just called ....which woke hubby up.
He woke on the RIGHT side of the bed. :0)
Turned the TV on and was confused as to why he couldn't find his morning program.
Heard him say out loud to himself. " oh, It's 10 o'clock."

Rained during the night and we are having occasional showers.
Could be worst! 35 degrees out.
I'm staying PUT, so makes me no mind.
R and R today...with some laundry and reheating of foods.
Michelle will bring her dad his favorite cake today. Boston Cream Pie.
10:20 a.m. and ALL IS WELL!
That's All Folks!
