D D charlie brown thanksgiving 4 more days EEEEK!

It's still Saturday and hubby and myself got the bright idea to work in our closets which face each other, so I am taking a break.
Ironed three of Jill's uniforms, black pants, white tuxedo shirt and black apron and one of Gil's and a cotton blouse of my own.
Yep, I wrote that right. Yep, you read that right. I still iron and iron for everyone.
They left a half hour ago and will be back around 2:30 to change into uniform.
It's not a wedding like I thought.
It's some kind of an awards thing and the meal will be served at 6p.m.
That's a big break in between setting the hall up so this award thing must be being held in the smaller hall and then they will go into the main hall that holds 400 or more.
Roast pork for dinner. Hope we get some of the leftovers  instead of it going elsewhere...like the Moose Hall to feed the drinkers.
It will be a late night by the time the food is served and they clear everything out of the hall.
Imagine the drunks at the Moose will be hungry by then.
Okay....so she will be sobering them up for the drive home. Looking on the bright side. :0)
My WONDERFUL SIL Joe for over 20 years would carry all the leftovers over to the members bar side and feed the members.
NOT SINCE HE WAS BEATEN at the Elks House members meeting that he was a member of!
They can go take a SHIT for themselves now!
He won't step a foot inside the Elks now.

Son Randy has come and gone. Brought us the leftovers from his pu-pu platter which was considerable and I re-heated them in the toaster oven and fed hubby and I.
Of course I heard complaining. Too much salt in the chicken wings and fried rice.
Which was true if you have avoided using salt for many years like he has. Oh well.
He is coming back tomorrow in the early morning if it isn't raining and take my car to detail it inside and out.
He is soooooooooo thorough.  Does this for me once a year and I feel guilty when I dirty it.
Right now I have a bunch of books in it to give to my friend Barb.
Haven't seen her in months,. sigh!   My fault, not hers!
There are cloth bags in my trunk he can put them in and get them out of his way.
Maybe I'll take a trip outside and do it myself later. Maybe.................
He's leaving me his small car. If I don't feel comfortable driving it, maybe i can get Jill to drive us to the Outback tomorrow if she isn't working.
Hubby is sorting through some of his STUFF  on the bed. Time for me to get in mine and do some more quick moving and re-arranging of my STUFF . Well my stuff and household stuff , such as T paper, paper towels and tonic. Occasionally washer detergent and softner as well.
In my next life I want a LARGE PANTRY, large closets in most every room, full cellar and attic, 3 car garage with a room over it, and, and, and.
Think I've gone down this path daydreaming in here before.
Oh a couple of maids too, please and thank you!
Daughter Michelle has a 2 car garage or is it three with a large family room over it. Heavenly!
Plus a large livingroom. sigh! Full cellar...don't know about attic.
Joe keeps things full with catering equiptment.  Even a popcorn machine and if I remember correctly a cotton candy machine too.

The Three Musketeers came home around 3. Jill, Butch and Gil.
It isn't an awards banquet.
It's an Installation....probably of new members.
Remember years back when hubby became an Elk member the wives joined them for a sit down dinner after they were installed.
Hubby's number on his card is in the 500's.
Know there are many, many more members some 40 odd years later.
The tonic is all in the closet. Still need to put odds and ends back in there.
I'm a maschocist. Lifted every damn case and put it away myself.
Butch and Gil were playing Rock Band.  If I complain I'm sore tomorrow, it's my own fault.

Sunday................

Hubby waited until he saw me get up for my coffee refill to ask for his tea refill.
When he commented that he didn't rush me and make me get up again today....I thanked him... sincerely.
The work crew came home at 9:30 p.m. All 3 of them.  Butch did a shit load of dishes and pans to help lighten their work load.  Gave the other 2 kitchen workers a head start on loading the box truck.
This made for all the workers to have a shorter nights work.
Daughter Michelle worked this event too and upon entering the Elks  ,she started to hyperventilate .
She suffers from panic attacks under certain circumstances.
Semi trucks passing her on the highway is one that triggers an attack.
Has learned what steps to take to calm herself down.
Knowing all the Elks members over many years and hosting cookouts at her and Joe's house has seen many of these people enjoying themselves...... and then no one divulges names of the two members that beat on him.
It's hard to take. They have cried together over it!
They both still can't wrap their heads around the WHY.  WHY would someone do something like this to them when they have done nothing to deserve it.
Two blown out knees........months of recovering and never will be able to bend his legs like he once could.
Sure.....Joe YELLS when he gets upset or is passionate about some issue, but to deserve two blown out knee caps.................... NEVER!
They brought back soup and roast pork in the containers I provided.
Jill and Butch left at 10 for 1 or 2 drinks at the Moose. Gil went home.
They came back close to 11:30 p.m.
He has to work today.
Just asked her how her stomach was last night to which she said, not as bad as the night before.
Doubled up on Prilosec and chewed Malox tablets before she went out.
Even ate a slice of pizza at the Moose.

Tracie didn't come over or call last night.
Her older sister Tina called here looking for her.
Tina is an alcholic and has lost her license for drunk driving and while Tracie does love her and gives her rides here there and everywhere, she doesn't spend any time with her unless she has to.
Tina was her mothers worries. Always stealing from her or wanting money and I can remember Clara stiffening up when she saw her coming in.
Clara would have been hospitable to my kids had she been the one alive.
Wonder if she worried like I do on how they will all manage once I am gone.
SHIT! You can't even have peace of mind about dying.  At least, I can't!
Maybe all of us parents have that same concern.  Maybe..................

Randy came around 9 a.m. to take my car to his place in NH to work on.
There won't even be a grain of dirt on the drivers side floor.....:0)until I get behind the wheel again. :0(

I have put off the puttering around too long this morning.  Up and at it!!!!!
Have begun taking Vitamin B Complex in hopes it boosts my energy.
If that don't work maybe the threat of a tv crew filming my cluttered house would. sigh!
It's a loosing battle. I shit you not!

  3. Hey, I still iron, too. Don't like it much, but it's got to be done and hubby can take 30 minutes on one shirt...No kidding...I can't bear watching that, and he knows that I'll soon hop up and take the iron out of his hand.
