Everywhere I drive a wide variety of flowers, bushes and flowering trees are a blaze of color.
How many times have I driven these same routes over the years and never noticed them. Too many.
The nursey didn't have the portulaca ready for sale yet... next week. BUT did buy a gorgeous yellow rhododendrun. Have never seen this particular color. There were 2 different types and I chose the low growing one so as not to block my next door neighbors view when they exit their driveway.
Went to KMart's nursery and OMG! Moi went crazy. I shit you not!
Got a bird cage plant holder and a plant stand to hang it from, another clemetis, 4 different kinds of flowering perennials, 3 beef steak tomato plants, an adorable hummingbird feeder and more. Will take pictures to show you.
Have a dozen kids here swimming. OMG! Audrey who is the daughter of our Michelle's best friend is a SCREAMER. I shit you not!. Myself and Logan have asked her to stop it. She isn't listening or forgets and the scream knifes right through you. Moi needs nerves of steel. It's going to be a long summer, I shit you not!.
We have kids here that have never been here before. They do live on this street or the side roads, but have never been in the house or yard in the past. Hope they brought towels. The ones that have swam in past summers have been told this year to bring their own towels. The rule to close the gate is being enforced this year by missing a day of swimming. Jill's idea and I think it's going to work as I hear kids saying " close the gate" when someone new enters the yard. The dogs will get loose and lost. Don't want to think of the heartache and fright.
My biggest complaint is not one mother checks on her kids. Never a thank you. They just assume we are the babysitters. Up until this year Logan fed the kids tonic and snacks.
Jill is seldom here when the kids are here...as is the case today. She and Butchie took off right after Logan got out of school.
Last night she went to the meat drawing at the VFW. Some drawing is up over 2K. Came home at 9:30 p.m. That was a good hour, since she left at 6 p.m. She said next week she should take me so that I can buy a chance for that weekly drawing. A few more days of a yard full of kids and that might sound very appealing. Make that an apricot brandy and orange juice bartender. No name for that one. Tastes like a breakfast juice drink. Enough of them and OMG ! Headache, nausea, cold chills, sweats that praying gets you nowhere, no how! Isn't that the flu? LOL
Poor Charlie likes to lounge in the back yard ....welllll he plays like he is lounging, when he really is trying to be discreet to catch a bird. Don't know where he is spending his p.m.'s once the kids are out of school.
Found out. Just went to put spaghetti water on and noticed it was his feeding time. Couldn't see him so gave a few kitty, kitties. Out from under the bushes on that side of the house he came. Don't think it was the kitty, kitty call. The fish aroma in his dish was pungent.
Seven of the boys including Logan are in the yard next door playing ball. Up until this year he and Shawn were close friends. Shawn is a grade ahead of him and went to a different school this year. grades 1-5 are just up the street over a creek. Grades 6-8 .... approximately 2 miles away.
Progress reports came out today and Logan is doing very well.
If having a yard and house full of kids is what it takes to keep my grandson on the right track, it will be worth it.......
Must get the spaghetti into the boiling water. Expected a phone call from Jill telling me to start dinner. It was she that left the sauce and water pan on the stove. It's 6 p.m. Time to give up on that.
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.
