Get to grab 10/20 minutes here and there for myself once hubby is up.
He needs.......he needs.....he needs. He does without a doubt.
By twelve forty five yesterday I was pooped.
He has to have help with dressing and undressing for his shower.
I look and feel like a limp rag when I'm done with him in the bathroom.
He needs help getting his crutches ubder his arms, myself to follow him into the bathroom to pull down his pj bottom and diaper and help pulling them up again.
Yesterday morning I gave him his morning meds at 7 a.m. when he woke to pee and he laid back down and slept until nine when I decided to wake him.
Forgot to take his B/P before I gave him his meds., It was 98/54 pulse 59 at 10:45 a.m. and that was after he did his exercizes.
At 11:30 he felt weak. BP this time was 84/43 pulse 53. He laid down until he felt strong enough for his shower . Before his shower I made him lunch.
Julie his visiting R.N. came at one. B/P 100/64 pulse 56.
She was and is very concerned about the middle number and asked me to call his doctor at the Lowell V.A. today and let him know his meds have been changed and he is on 100 mg of Atavan.
Hubby did not have a good night last night, consequently neither did I.
He was up numerous times . At 3 a.m. he had a B.M. in his pull up diaper before he could get to the commode. Once I got him clean and into bed I took his B/P. 135/63 pulse 62.
After a few more False Alarms at 6 he did urinate some in the commode and I noticed a red drop on the porcelain bowl. Blood. Handed him one of the hospital disposable cloths to wipe himself with and he bitched that it made his penis sting and burn. Tried to explain it was not what was causing his burning to no avail. Took his B/P again as it was time for his morning meds. 161/74 pulse 66. It was then and there I decided to cut his Atavan pill in half. It must be what is bringing his B/P so low.
I will give Julie his R.N. his discharge paperwork and have her call his discharge doctor about that med.
Unfortunately.....it's not his only problem. This blood in his urine concerns me and I'm sure it will Julie.
Ut Oh! Just remembered it will be someone I haven't met before that comes today around 1. Her name is Sandy. We will also have a Becky here today to give him his shower to give me a break and Arvin the P.T. guy to work with him if he can tolerate any exercise.
Once I got him comfortable in bed again I sat on my side just thinking and remembering part of the dream I was woken from. NIGHTMARE is more like it. Jill delivered at least 6 very preemie babies.
( Heaven Forbid... she will be 50 this September 10th ) When I asked her what she was naming the girls, I heard Kerri....Keithann ..... WHAT!!!!!!! I was totally upset now and was about to give her my two cents worth when hubby woke me up. :0)
It was only a dream...it was only a dream. :0) I should have been more upset about who was going to support these kids. Ya think????????????????????????????????
Picked up my laptop and headed into the family room and here I sit.
Waterfall came on at 6:45 . Going to miss that sound. sigh!
It's me in here alone with my thoughts. Something definately is not right with hubby. He himself keeps saying he doesn't know what's wrong with him.
Next time he wakes I will take his B/P again. Maybe I should have given him 3/4th 's of the Atavan 100mg , but I definately know the whole 100mg is what his making his bottom number LOW.
The blood in the urine is a seperate issue.
There are times he tries to apologise to me for needing my help so much and sounds so weak, old and frail.
He can't help that. I understand it.
It's the bitching he does that ruins it all. Like I would intentionally move him the wrong way or give him a wipe with something to burn his penis in it ...yadda,yadda,yadda.
I will survive! I shit you not! Question on my mind is...will he????
Seeing him like this leaves me wondering.
AND worrying.
Household is awakening. I hear activity in the kitchen area behind me.
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.

WARNING !! Not for those with a short attention span. ; 0 )
I'm thinking of you every day and sending you my love. I feel there is not much else i can do but be an ear (eyes)
ReplyDeleteI just hope they figure out what is wrong with him and that you mange to find some peace here and there ♥
Oh gosh, my dear friend, you have brought tears to my eyes. It is so hard for us to watch a loved one suffer. Are you going to arrange for a home health aide when you return home? I fear this is all too much for you to handle alone. Prayers and positive thoughts coming your way.

Things are not looking up, are they?
ReplyDeleteHave you alerted all of his MA medical team, that a a very sick veteran, will be coming at them, soon? I just don't see how he can be at home, much longer. You are not a nurse. You do not know the wise-ways to do stuff (like how to lift and etc.), and can hurt yourself.
What time is your flight on Thurs. please? If you want to tell, that is. I want to be able to send good wishes your way, for the trip. 'Course I can do that, without knowing the exact time of the flight.
How long can son stay, before he goes back to FL? Thurs. night I hope. And the next morning, in case you need help in getting hubby to hospital...
Gentle hugs...
candles lit ..prayers sent...
ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comments... Make sure you have some help when you get home.
ReplyDelete((hugs))
Oh my, there is never a reprieve for you, is there? Know that you are in my thoughts and I am praying that once you return home, things settle in some for you. At least you will no longer have to clean up after the ferrets...although I know you 'are' going to miss the little critters.
