someone has to.
I wanted to put a pillow over hubby's face today!!!!
Told my son to take me to the rest home for noon when I knew that hubby would be in his room.
Trust me.......it will be twelve thirty the next time I go visit him during the daytime hours and I'm leaning towards a half hour before visitors are told to leave at night. I shit you not!
One half hour after arriving I wanted OUT...well even before then, but I was gracious and stayed a half hour instead of the hour I had planned to stay. sigh!
All he did was SNAP at me.
First he accused me of yelling at him.....was speaking in a normal speaking tone.
Another time he is looking quizically at my purse on his tray and began feeling it. What's this he asked.
Told him it was my purse. You have to get it off there so my dinner can get put there he snaps.
He insisted the square piece of fish was raw shushi after one bite.. NOT!
Green beans were water soaked.and had no flavor.
Oven baked fries were tasteless.
Was told he had catsup on his tray........so Sonny handed it to him and he played with it.
When I asked him if he wanted me to open it he refused my offer.
Innocently I said, " you use catsup at home". Right away he snapped at me and asked me why I was always wanting to tell him what he does at home. Sheeeeeeeeeeeesh!
The A/C was blasting and he was cold. Sonny turned it off and I noticed that the floor unit heater was on.
Made the mistake.of mentioning that both cold and heat were going at the same time Shoot me!
Right away he starts in telling me that my dad use to do that in elderly housing...run both at the same time and laugh about it.
No amount of reasoning made him realize that it wasn't so.
The F word is spoken by him to let me know he is pissed that I should not be disagreeing with him.
Now.......we have central A/C and on our dial you can turn the switch to A/C OR Heat OR OFF.
NOT BOTH! I shit you not! Plus my dad hated A/C even when he lived in FL and my mothers face had turned beet red he didn't want it turned on.
His last car had A/C. From day one my dad would have his hair greased and combed just so.....no car windows could be open less a strand of his hair got out of place. That's just the way he was! I shit you not!
My son asked me why I even bother to argue with him. What can I possibly get out of it. I can't make him admit he is wrong and who wins????
It just upsets me...........so just let it go he tells me.
I left at 12:30 and told Sonny that from now on I will go at 12:30 and beat it the Hell out of there at one when he resumes his p.m. P.T. I shit you not!
I have a good mind to call there before I go up tonight and ask what time visiting hours are OVER and show up a half hour before then. :0)
Yesterday he bitched that I brought him up his Lorna Doone cookies and some bananas and grapes.
I was trying to make him fat, he said. ????????????????????????????????
Wouldn't you know it.... he opened those cookies and that's what he ate for lunch today and he ate a banana yesterday and the little chocolate cake I brought him. GO FIGURE!
Bitched about the lactaid ice cream I brought up too. DIL Deb said to him...don't you eat those at home.
Got him there ....he admitted he did.
She retrains herself from giving him a piece of her mind on my behalf.
I was close to tears as all I try to do is make things nicer and be considerate and ALL I GET IS GRIEF!
At one point he asked why I was upset. This was after his first bitch. Must have read my face. ...sigh!
Okay enough already. I've vented and feel better.
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.

you know how they say misery loves company and he is probably miserable and lets it out on you....not fair by a long shot and you absolutely do not deserve it. Sending big hugs ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI hope he will not be to much of a handful once he gets home
Oh dear, I'm so sorry that you have to go through all this on your vacation. I know exactly how it feels. My abusive ex was like that when he was in the hospital and it got so bad with his nagging and carrying on that the nurse stepped in to defend me. I think you are wise to go just before visiting hours are over. Do you think he will get any better when he is home and out of the hospital? I honestly don't know how you deal with all that you deal with.

{{{{{{Hugs, Hon}}}}}} No fun, dealing with a person who has had stroke damage. No fun!!!!! -sigh- And one of the very, very scary parts of having a stroke. Aside from the incapacitation, which is the first thing we think of. And no one wants to be incapacitated and dependent on others.
ReplyDeleteAdd to that, strokes can make us miserable to be dealt with. Which only drives our caregivers away! -sigh-
More reasons I try to eat as I'm supposed to. Will it do any good? Who knows? But at least I have the satisfaction of TRYING to avoid more artery clogging. I was LUCKY a couple of years ago. Got them cleaned out, before they hurt me.
Oh who knows? The other side is... eat everything and enjoy yourself. I just can't do that, though.
And NO, I am not saying he got his strokes, from what he ate!!!!!!!! I am just saying, about people who have not yet had strokes...
Enough. Too much I suppose. Why can't I just say "I'm sorry" and leave it at that, like a normal commenter would hu? Blahhh.. Me, I have to run on and on and on......
Maybe I give you a chuckle, though. And some days, you could use a chuckle. We all could!
Gentle hugs...
