Our grands and great grands need to see a brighter future.
So do I....ASAP !!!!! If not sooner.
Been feeling the need to view the newborn puppies on Ustream.
Have watched many from birth to leaving to go to their Forever Homes as well as owls and eagles and the likes.
Right now on Ustream Bessie Season 3 with her 7 beagle puppies in Scotland has me oohing and awing. Logan would love to have a beagle. Someday.....now is not the time.
Just hearing their sounds stirs something in me and I want to hold them close.
My favorite smell is newly born puppies baby breath.
It's been many, many moons since I smelled that smell. Or is the word smelt?
No matter, I want to smell it again.
Yesterday I handed Jill $120 to grocery shop thinking we'd have a good supper.
She and Butch took off around 1:30 for NH to for the 3rd time bring his carberator back to where it was rebuilt.
So I didn't expect them back right away.....but by 5 p.m. after stopping Logan from eating junk and hearing I'm hungry...I said Fuck It.
Told him to get his shoes on, asked hubby what kind of sub he wanted and kissed him goodbye and told him that if the two of them came back before I did...tell her NOT to cook for us.
Yeah...I was bullshit. I shit you not!
It does not take but a little more than an hour to do what the two of them set out to do.
I did not hear the word Moose Hall or any other bar in their itinerary.
Almost as soon as I turned the corner of my street I could see her car was in the driveway.
She knew without me speaking a word that I was not a Happy Camper.
The groceries were put away.
An hour or more later she cooked chicken for the two of them.
Right now I'm wondering where they got the money to drink, because she cooked here for them all weekend becasue he was out of money,
Just went to ask her that question since it's still a sore spot with moi....she's gone.
Butch went to work a detail until 2 p.m. this morning around 8 a.m..
Thought maybe she went for a pack of cigarettes. Nope.
Took pity on the ferrets and let them out to play while I cleaned poop and gave them fresh water and food.
I get tired out before they do. :0(
Two of them slipped out the gate as I was going to clean their water bowls and I had to chase them around.
They just love to run and play and I feel so guilty that they don't get out of their cage more.
That's one of the reasons hubby says no more dogs.
Logan does not interact with his ferret hardly at all anymore. sigh!
Young Gil said it well recently. His dog was struck and killed earlier this year in Dracut..
As kids... we want them...we love them...we get tired of caring for them and leave it to our parents or someone else, but we never forget them.
Thinking back....my mother probably had this job too. sigh! Have no memory of taking responsibily for a pet. :0(
We always had dogs and cats. I loved them all and still remember some.
Trixie was bought from a pet store in Salem,MA for me. I saw her in the window and had to have her.
She was a terrier.
After her was Beauty and we took her with us when my dad pulled up stakes one day out of the blue and we all headed to California. to live the end of December 1949... I think it was.
Don't remember her as being mine, but I do remember her.
I know myself real well....I would not be able to give any puppies up..so my females and prior male dogs as well have been fixed.
Can remember the agony of letting Trixie's and Beauty's pups go. No thank you!
Plus there are too many unwanted dogs and cats..........so I do my part to keep the population down.
When I was around 7 or 8 our home in Wenham,MA burned to the ground.
Mom had her dog Ginger that we all loved. She died in that fire.
We always had cats and kittens ....for the life of me no names come to mind...but I loved them.
We moved in with my mothers dad for a short period after that fire and every cat/kitten in the neighborhood ....was lost in my 7/8 year old mind.
I would open the bulkhead to the cellar and set them down on the stairs, close the lids and go get food and milk for them.
Grandpa or my mom must have discovered them and a few days later when I went to feed them....GONE!
Can't remember if I put two and two together back then....none the less...they were GONE.
Must have left an imprint on my mind that they were POOF :0( ... as I retained that memory.
Thinking back on it as I have sometimes................poor owners that were missing their pets.
Jill came back and I got my answer....well sort of. Stopped at the Moose for ONE DRINK.
$7 is the figure she gave me. I didn't ask the price of the two drinks, but she must have felt it was necessary to divulge that info. sigh!
Whatever!!!!! The fresh tomatoes I ate for lunch didn't fill me up enough to be all happy that the evening meal was not even in the house by 5 p.m.
She or he mixed up a drink for each of them up until they retired to her room for the night. sigh!
Now she is heading out to get her drivers license renewed. The five years were up on her birthday the 10th. Back again. Just made hubby 3 hard boiled eggs for his lunch. Cooked 8 eggs and made egg salad with the other 5.
I'm in the mood for BLT's using a few ground up fine bacon bits.
Of course nice warm bacon strips would taste so much better, but this will be better for me and tastes mighty darn good anyway. I shit you not!
Time to stop going down Memory Lane and face the real world ..or mine anyway.
That's All Folks!
did you see any change from your grocery many?...hope i'm not to forward asking and i would have been pissed too. Hope you at least have a good night
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking the same thing. I'm thinking there was some fudging around with your grocery money. You know, I work with addiction, and it is sad to say that an addict or alcoholic will do what they have to to get that drink or drug...including cheat or steal from their parents. Just know it's the drink, not Jill. The drink controls her.
