Aliya weighed 7 lbs. 7 oz's.
This was Elvis' birthday and it's also the date my dad passed away.
Son Terry called moi shortly after he got home and released Red under one of his bird feeders..
This was Elvis' birthday and it's also the date my dad passed away.
Son Terry called moi shortly after he got home and released Red under one of his bird feeders..
It headed right up the tall tree about 20 feet up and back down it would come to Terry's eye level, look him in the eye and back up it would go.
Was doing this over and over. :0)
Terry said that the tree is probably 40 feet tall and there are others close to it, but so far it hasn't lept to another tree or onto him.
He also said he will know this squirrel from the others because none of the others come close to him.
They scatter when he approaches. .
Hubby and I went for our dinner at the Outback yesterday.
Before I left I asked Jill if she was going to be home. Far as I know was her reply.
Got back and Logan and his friends were here...........no Jill. Go figure!
Was I surprised? No! Disappointed, yes.
Butch was working.
Dinner was very good and hubby hit the bed and slept a long time.
How.... with the storm door constantly banging closed, is beyond moi.
So I told him to ask her when she comes home.....she should be out of work soon and is probably too busy right now.
His words to me were....." Nana, she always never comes home after work. She goes to a bar and gets intoxicated."
I said Logan ....not always.
"Yes she does and she stays at the bar and gets drunk", he says. " Watch, she won't come home right from work today." "You will see."
..... and damned if he wasn't right. I knew he would be. Covered up where she was and what she was doing for as long as was possible. There comes an age where kids won't buy what you tell them. sigh!
I haven't told her he said this and don't know if I should.
Oh ..she knows he knows she drinks. Does she care? My guess is not cause she never tries to hide it.
Would his words to me cut her deeply.....???? Enough to change???
Or would they just piss her off instead of smartening her up?
I think I know the answer, but I always think some words will magically change her when she is sober.
When I mentioned my sister and our mom yesterday...the word OUR struck a chord with moi.
Nancy and I were not close in proximity once we were married. She married a service man and so did I and we were never stationed in the same town and most always she was in different states.
Therefore when I spoke about my mother the words I used in my sentence to anyone in the sentence would be....my mother. As in...my mother's favorite flower is a rose.
Once we were older and I was in MA and she was in NH maybe 60 miles or more from me and of course we would get together as often as we could.
Invariably I would say " my mother " in speaking to her. Not one time, but many times. It was a habit!
Nancy would get so pissed and say in a huffy voice that meant business...."OUR mother. "
I would apologize and damned if I didn't do it again the next visit.
So yesterday in my post of the day, when I explained the writing on the dolls head .....unconciously I hesitated ...just a sec or so and typed "our" before the word mother.
Am I forgiven Nancy? ;0)
She didn't give a hoot if I said "my dad ".
Now dad was a great provider and we never lacked for food, clothing or a roof over out head....BUT that didn't cut it with Nancy. He was an alcoholic,,,,she didn't like the way he treated OUR mother and once mom died she never even sent him a card.
I never heard dad complain about it and he lived with me when mom died and after.
She would just ignore him when she came here to visit me.
A few days before she died I asked my dad if he wanted to drive with us to the NH hospital she was in.
Sure, he said... and readied himself. Nancy was on a morphine drip at this time.
Dad walked up to her bed and her eyes widened and she said with a lilt in her voice, "dad,,,, you came".
It was so good to see the light in her eyes when she saw him... it was like nothing else mattered.
Her dad was there.
Sure, I have lots of unhappy memories of my youth when dad was drunk, he has said and done bad things, but as I got older I gave him credit where credit was due.
That's why I get so upset with some of my kids that can't look past things their sibling may have done or said. I'm not saying...turn the other cheek." You can be cordial when in their presense.
None of us are perfect .
Nancy and I had our disagreements as kids and a few words as adults.
Nancy was quick to take things the wrong way. One day she was telling me she had a ghost living in her house in NH. Lights went off. TV too. Little things like that happening.
So I says with a shake to my head, " Nancy......no ghost in their right mind would want to haunt your house" in a voice that I thought sounded like I was being funny.
With that ...she got pissed. Wellllllllllllllllll! Well Miss House Beautiful...why wouldn't a ghost want to live in my house she said indignantly.
Nancy, I was only kidding. Your house is full of kids like mine has always been and with all the noise we both have and have had I was just being funny, I said.
Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh!
She thought I was ridiculing her house or whatever. I meant more like....don't ghosts want quiet and that's something neither of us had. We both had noise and clamor.
I miss her.........................sigh! She can haunt my house if she wants. :0) Lotsa noise here...she will feel at home. ;0) I shit you not!
I have always said that if I have the opportunity to see someone like John Edward or another medium I would want it to be my sister that came through to me.
If I heard the words, "our mother ", I would know for sure that there is something after death .
Some years back I did have the opportunity to see a medium with a few of my co-workers.
She was someone that had done a reading for John Edward. Can't remember her name off hand.
After some time on the other side of the room she came to the side I was on and began making her hands move fast. Kept repeating " I see busy hands." My mother was always working with her hands sewing, knitting or crocheting to make herself some spending money that she didn't have to ask my dad for...like bingo and such.
All her married life she turned her regular paycheck over to him.
soooooooooooooooooooo after a few attempts at trying to connect this mom with someone .... I raised my hand and claimed her as my mother. :0)
At one point she mentioned brother or brothers. Told me that one had passed and he was now standing beside her and holding her hand.
One passed was TRUE and would like to believe they are together as he chose to be out of everyones life for years before he died, including hers.
I'd like to believe they are together and the past is no more. Know my mom had the biggest heart and would open her arms to Ron. :0)
Lookee here.......I've rambled on and on and now I will wonder where the time went and why I've got nothing done. That's so like moi! :0) I shit you not!
Before I owned a computer I would crochet an afghan a week. Have to keep my hands busy like someone else I knew. :0)
In these times; some of these people probably do need the handouts. Very ingenuous signs.
and the winner is
Woke around 12:15 a.m. to 5 loud bangs. Went out back in my bare feet in the slight drizzle to see if I could locate where they came from if they sounded again. Quietness.
This morning Jill said she also woke to them. It was damned Bob 2 doors away shooting off Roman Candles.
It's 71 now and overcast. The kind of day you can work inside or outside and not feel tired before you start. :0)
Jill and I went to have our fasting bloodwork done at 8 a.m. Amazing how I can get a shower and dressed by that time of the morning when I have to.
My next doctor appointment is in 3 weeks and I have had these orders 2 months now.
I bitched and complained so much about driving the miles to the clinic she wanted me to go to that she finally relented and let me go to the one a mile from home. It was about time I went.....u think!
It aggrevates me to have to see my doctor every 3 months when I have no complaints.
What's with that!
Okay... so it's been a year since I had bloodwork done.
My B/P and everything else checked out great. Betcha she wants to see me in another 3 months.
Can't win! I shit you not!
Hubby wants to go to the chiroprators a mile away. Can do.
That's All Folks!

Congrats on the new granddaughter. Make sure to show us some pictures.
