Dear Diary, it's almost time to leave.

More than glad that  I came to Alaska and got to spend some time with my best friend Nancy.
That was my main purpose for going to Alaska. :0)

Mom and baby were spotted just a quarter of a mile away and I got out of the car to take a picture a few days after I arrived. . Hope the mom isn't on someone's table for dinner now and the baby orphaned or dead too. My best friend Nancy and I in Seward at the Seward Aquarium.

Mountains, mountains everywhere you look. This state is absolutely beautiful. I shit you not!
Below is Hatcher Pass trip.

 The elevation at the top is almost 4000 feet.  3,8k and some odd.   Just a narrow gravel road to travel for many, many miles before you travel many more as you descend.  I don't like heights, but I was on the side of the car where I didn't see the edge of the road and the drop offs below. :0)

A moose track in the yard, a Stellar Jay at the feeder and beer and bottles litter the Little Sue riverbank below their property. That Road Closed sign didn't belong there either.  Last picture is of a rainbow as seen from their living room window after the rain stopped. It's the rainy season here. Six weeks of rain. So far it's the second highest rain season on record.
They sit on 5 acres. Piper cubs, sea planes and someone shooting a gun or rifle is the only noise you hear out here. 
My friend Nancy is living the life I had as caretaker to her husband that had a stroke four years ago. Sometimes I catch my breath as if I am living that last year over again watching them. I see everything repeating itself as his health declines. They could have been "twins."

 Can't stand myself..........haven't been able to take a shower due to the septic system not working properly due to all the rain and the clay earth. :0(  Sponge baths are only good for so long.  Hope and pray I get to take one before I sit next to some poor soul on the plane this coming Saturday. NEVER in my life have I gone more than one day without a shower ( at least to my memory).
After this...taking a daily shower will take on a new meaning to me! :0) I shit you not!
   Did I mention that I think that I may be getting a urinary tract infection.....due to the fact that I try not to have to flush the toilet too often. Oh welllll, once home and to my doctor's office, pills will cure it. It's all been worth it! I shit you not!

Snow can be seen on the higher elevation from the windows that face the mountain.
Soon it will be white here too.
