No,no,no. I haven't fallen off the face of the earth

Just been busy in my new life. :0)
Have been planning day trips from the Senior Center in my town. Ed's Senior Center while brand new as of last October with many more features and space than mine, lacks in organizers for trips, and No, I'm not offering to volunteer.
First by bus day trip is a dinner/show to see The Crooner and the Bombshell. Lookalikes, Dean Martin and Marilyn Monroe the 16th of April.
Ed never went dancing or on bus trips or to see a comedy show and is delightfully enthused about this change in his life as am I. These will be my first bus trips ( day trip ). :0)
Wait til next month when we go see Curtis Knight play. It's an Senior of the Year Award dinner and my SIL and daughter Michelle are the caterers. Curtis will tone it down for us seniors, I'm sure...but it's a rock band.

Today Ed is working the polls in his town the entire day 6:30 a.m til 7p.m. and I have been busy as a bee doing things to improve his/our surroundings before I head out to my house and hit the food store and Walmart before I return.  What....you ask no Kohls.... ;0) I was there yesterday with Ed and his daughter Sandy. She came down from NH to take us out to breakfast  and visit with us half the day. :0) I like her very much. She's a down to earth person and she loves to camp. She and her hubby bought a Coach and even though it's ten years old, it's to die for. The living room expands and the floor space is twice as much as Ed's motorhome. Lots of extras in theirs. Sometime this summer we will get together with them at some camp ground.
Speaking of camping. We took the motor home for a ride yesterday p/m. to get an inspection sticker and it passed. Yippee. It's insured and ready to go when the camp grounds open, which is April 14th in some. We have spend a few days cleaning his out and I am re-arranging it as to where dishes, etc. and other cooking needs are kept to my liking. :0) Ed says I am IN CHARGE.
Speaking of Ed, he is the unfussiest man I have ever met when it comes to food.  So much so...that I opened the freezer this morning after he left and threw out any and ALL freezer burned meats, not to mention the ones that had a 2011 date on them. YUCK! He is under the belief that meat does not go bad and is always edible. Moi on the other hand does not like the taste after it's cooked or the appearance before it's cooked and I Ain't Eating It! You can take that to the bank with you!!! ;0)
He shops and buys and buys, whether it's food stuff or personal needs items.
It's like he fears the stores will suddenly shut down FOR GOOD. You could shop for canned goods in this house til the cows came home. I never know what we need as so many cans are piled on storage shelves . I keep telling myself I need to take everything off the shelves and re-arrange things. Items need to go with like items. Soup, veggies, sauces, etc.
While I'm on the subject of Ed, I want to say that he learned fast to not show me his moods. If I am engrossed in something I am doing and don't hear his words to me, ZIP IT and don't pout.  Like he says....I'm everything a man could want and he wants me in his life. He tells me he is the luckiest man alive, He needs me more than I need him, he tells me he loves me many times during the day and always tells me I'm beautiful, have a beautiful smile, a beautiful body and am beautiful inside too. NEVER have I had a man that can openly bare his soul to me and sad to say, he has just learned this behavior and confessed to me that he was not the same man with his wife and now wishes he was. He realizes that he missed out on so much and like my hubby thought that bringing home the bacon was showing his love. Oh, he always kissed her goodbye and hello as Mike did, but he says he never went to sleep without kissing her goodnight after a disagreement like Mike did.
I was right up front with Ed in the beginning of our relationship and told him what I DID and DID NOT like in  a man's behavior in so many words and as my DIL Deb is famous for saying, " A man will only treat you as YOU allow him to", is true. This Go-Around, we both want to catch the brass ring!!! Each day that passes I find I care for him more and more. :0)

Well I hate to run and leave you, but I have only so many hours to get what I want to get done DONE! It's after 10a.m. already.
Jeezus, that fridge freezer is looking mighty bare. EEK!
The freezer in the garage is in dire need of a Looksee and Toss too. I shit you not!

That's All Folks!

  4. About bloody time! So glad you're living your life and enjoying it, and you inspire us all with your no nonsense approach to Ed and his moods. See they CAN be trained!
I envy you the camping, we'd love to do that, someday we will, but for now we're getting ready for the Winter in our new house that has CARPET.

  5. My husband shows his love by coming by me while I am on the computer and showing me his floppy disc, asking if I want to play.
As for the abundance of canned goods? Try this for fun. Take all the labels off the cans and every other night, grab three and open them and mix together for a side dish. Ha. That might cure Ed of over canning.
