Sometime after posting last evening we got on the subjects of pets. Ed doesn't want any at this stage of his life. Those were his words. That and the fact that he likes his life the way it is. Petless. He can travel at the drop of his hat and dogs get in the way. While I must agree that they do, that hasn't stopped me . My pets have had Forever Homes and I get very attached to my pets.
One of his pictures in the dating site showed him holding a chihuahua, which caught my eye and drew me to him. That dog is his sons. NOW I feel that I was misled. I declared myself as a pet lover and my picture included my chihuahua.
He did ask which of the dogs at my house were mine. When told ...what he didn't say was... he would be willing to have my chihauhua Ginger in his life. :0( Inmnediately...I internalized.
I don't like confrontation. I've taken into consideration that I am many miles from home. I've also taken into consideration that I want to finish out this vacation. There are many things that I am willing to compromise on, BUT excluding my Ginger from my life isn't one of them! IF, Ed wants me in his life, he best reconsider. I AM NOT WILLING to allow someone to let me lose my identity again. Oh sure...I can go on as I have done by seeing Ginger when I go home, but long term... it ain't going to happen. I shit you not!
IF he isn't acute to how I have begun to withdraw ( by my actions ) and negotiate...once home I will move on. Next time I will be more cautious and learn more about the guy before I get too comfortable. I know he will be hurt, but I am not going to feel so bad about it that I give up my identity. Yeah..it hurts.....go ahead and ask me.:0( I'll get over it. I shit you not!
...and if not.... adios amigo. Who knows what life has in store for me. :0) It may even include ........bedroom gymnastics. You thought I was going to say dancing, didn't you? ;0)
(((hugs)))
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.
I AM WOMAN! Hear me ROAR! February 2012
WARNING !! Not for those with a short attention span. ; 0 )

I'd be the same way, my friend. Matter of fact, hubby and I had words over Minga before we moved into our new place. He wanted her to go with my sons, but she is my baby. Guess who won out? Of course, that's a battle I won. I think my anger sort of startled him.

I agree with you. Wanna be in your life? He needs to accept your family members. ALL of them.
ReplyDeleteagreed !!!
ReplyDeleteYes please. Do NOT give up your identity. I have been searching a long time for mine and once I do? I will never lose it again. To mess with a good quote:
ReplyDelete"No man is worth making you give up your pets and one who is....would never make you do so."
Stick to your guns. Don't give up your Ginger. I think you already have made quite a few compromises, and he has made few (has he made any?). Sure, he's a nice guy... but he is so stuck in his ways I don't see that getting any better than it is right now. So, if NOW isn't enough -- keep looking.
ReplyDeleteYou GOT IT!!!! :0)
Deleteand in my case he's got to be a cowboys fan..haha
ReplyDeleteI think it's a bigger issue than just the dog, I mean how hard is it to include a little dog in your life? You do what you have to do, there are plenty of other men out there who aren't so set in their ways. I am in awe of you my friend, you inspire me.
ReplyDeleteUnless he goes into anaphylactic shock from dog dander, he has no right to expect you to give up any of your pets. They've been with you longer than he has and have been more loyal than any man! You stand strong, girl!
ReplyDeleteDid I miss something? are you going to move in together? If not it's not a problem, if yes then I would choose my little dog to. He does have a point about not being able to just jump in the car and go. Pets are like children to us but maybe he is done with being tied down by children or pets. Many people get like this. Any hoo I'm to be single soon and there's no room in my life for a fricken man! Hah! Hugs, Pearl
ReplyDeleteIv'e been spending one day a week at home and either have been at his house, camping with him in his motor home and now am on vacation with him in Florida.
DeleteNo reason why my dog can't be with us while we are at his house or camping in his motor home. NO reason that I could find valid. He wants me with him......accept my dog with me.
