All it took was a knock on my door with some guy saying....we were cutting trees down on your street and we could take down that spruce for a good price. $450
We carted that blue spruce home in 1976 from a nursery we passed by in Canton, MA in our LDT station wagon and it grew and Grew and GREW!
We don't get alot of high winds, BUT WHEN WE DO ....I worried that it would come through the house. Those tree roots don't run deep.
Told this man I needed branches off the maple in front that hung over the driveway and we had A DEAL!
Funeral ceremony will be tody when they pick up the logs and grind the stump down.
Haven't breathed a word to hubby.
Let's see if he notices it when I bring him home next week. UT OH!!!!
My neighbor Glenn across the street had his smaller blue spruce cut down the day before me and I THOUGHT HE WAS NUTS! I shit you not!
Funny how a day changes things.....................................
Hubby wasn't feeling good all day yesterday. His vitals were good. When i asked at 6 when he last got his pain med the nurse looked in her book.....9 A.M.
WTF!
Okay...I know As Needed means you have to ask for it. He has no conception of time and is in pain even with the med, BUT the level of pain is different. If they gave him JUST ONE pain med every 6 hours he would more than likely only need 1 pain med. The level of pain is so high when he finally gets one TAKES TWO.
This morning he told me he had the shits all night long. He said he feels like he is going backwards NOW.
I myself noticed that when i saw him last night. Waking yesterday morning and having no idea where he was at that time...can't be a good sign. I shit you not!
Once Jill got home from work I asked her to call her divorce attorney ( whom she is on a friendly basis with ) and ask him if he does Durable Power of Attorney's.
She called this morning and left a voice message. He called when he got to his office and is in court all day today. She set up an appointment for Monday and he will meet with us at the Rehab at 1 a.m. Monday.
Some days I feel like it's a race against the clock before he declines back to where he was and other times I think he is going to get back to the health he was in before his first hospital stay in February of this year.
Hearing him say that he feels he is beginning to go backwards....isn't comforting.
FUCK this W.C. attorney that came there with his MONETARY intentions instead of addressing the one I called him for. DPOA!
Logan is home. :0) Looks the same as he did when he left.
Came home with all kinds of junk shit from their trip to China. Yen, numchucks ( however you spell it), nail clippers that say China on them, etc. Told him those CHUCK things can stay at his dads house.
NOT HERE!
As I write this I am getting riled up. They can buy this CRAP and not pay child support??? WTF!!
Think I need to make a trip down to her bedroom and confront this issue quietly ...so as not to wake Logan.
That's All Folks!
Oh, that poor tree. It looks so naked and lost. How's the other tree.
ReplyDeleteMary
What a huge tree, I've seen the damage that fallen trees can do in storms, and to people not just to property.
ReplyDeleteTrish.
i hate to cut trees down but had to do the same with a couple because they where to close to the house..good luck with the rest ♥
ReplyDeleteThe house we were living in sold when I was 12 and moved out to the country to start its new life. In order to get the house off the lot, and to develop the lot into a commercial property, the big blue spruce was cut down. I'd never known life without it, because we'd lived there since I was born. I remember crying like a baby. All of us did. Even though we knew it had to come down, there were so many memories under it...birthday parties, hide and seek, birds chirping, getting stabbed with little pine needles while walking barefoot in the summer, sappy fingers and using it as a fort. It was just. Sad.
ReplyDeleteAlso...I understand the whole cramped as sardines in a can feeling from when your kids were little. I have 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and there were 11 of us living together growing up. Then again, at different points there were more than that..like when my oldest brother got his gf pg, and they moved in with the baby. It was 2 bedrooms and about 800 sqft with an unfinished basement. One bathroom. We slept wherever we could find an empty spot. And you know what? We grew up happy! And we're all very close to this day! I think the outhouse helped. :D
