D D The Rusty Years Chapter 13

Thursday June 23rd  ...........Knew that hubby was mechanically inclined.  Knew he also has had a knack for figuring out how to build a better mouse trap and save a buck ( in this case $284 plus shipping ).   He figured out that he can just edge his behind up to the tub, grab the mounted tub bar and sit down on his bath chair ( it has no back ) turn around slowly and get his legs up over and  into the tub.
No tub mounted sliding swivel bench chair needed. :0)

Physical Therapist came at 12:30.  She thinks he is doing much better.   Most definately better than he was on her first visit here. Liked his tub demonstration . :0)

Spent some hours trying to clean out one of the diningroom display cabinets. ONCE AGAIN it had become a Catch All cabinet. I can't blame anyone but myself for that. It's a bad habit of mine to plunk odds and ends in there instead of finding the righful home for them. Still have stuff on my table to find a home for. Three bottles of Elmers glue that Logan uses gor his school projects and a stick glue are amongst the find a new home for mess.  Looks like we lost a bottle of glue and replaced it , only to lose that and replace it again. sigh! Who needs THREE bottles of Elmers Glue !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Never did get the bottom part cleaned out where we keep phone books and extra light bulbs and, and, and.  It has a door and the stuff behind it is hidden.  :0) Only annoying when you open the door and stuff rolls out onto the diningroom floor.   ...............................another day. Rome wasn't built in a day.  Of course by the time I get to the bottom of that cabinet, the top will probably be another story.   Unfortunately ...there are two cabinets and the second one is even larger and you can't see the dishes on display there for the shit piled on top of them and around them.  Again....by me!  I bought a picture frame to put Logan's 5th grade diploma in this same time LAST YEAR.  It is still sitting in that cabinet where I plunked it...sans diploma which lays under it.  I think that I am half of my problem here....I shit you not!
The drawer holds everything known to man , scissors, dice, pens, pencils, staples, rulers, cards, thumb tacks, white out, shoe strings, erasers, paper punch, paper clips, elastic bands, picture hangers, colored pencils, markers, storage clips and, and, and. Closing said drawer is beginning to become difficult. I shit you not!
Heck, did I say " beginning ", HAS BEEN.   If it wasn't well built... the bottom of the drawer would have fallen out long ago.  It's been cleaned out and everything returned nice and neat more than once since it took it's place in the diningroom and when I get around to it again...it won't be the LAST TIME. I shit you not!
Another scare!!!!!!!!!!!!
Around 6 p.m. hubby began complaining of his heart beating wildly in his chest. As I went to lay my hand on his chest I noticed he had not taken his noon meds that I gave him in a med cup sitting on his nightstand. He must have needed to use his urinal at that time and forgot about them. sigh!
Gave him his meds and got out the BP cuff.  Heartrate was 100.  He was scared and anxious and wanting Jill to drive him to the V.A.Hospital. The more scared and anxious he got the worst he became.  sigh!
I kept telling him to relax and he'd probably feel better after his meds had been in him awhile.   No dice. He had gotten himself too worked up.  Jill finally got him calmed down some and told him that she was calling 911. If he checked out good enough to be driven to the V.A. she would drive him there. If not he was going to a local hopsital.  All in agreement say AYE.  AYE!!!!  We ran around putting the dogs away and clearing a straight path to hubby. ( Removed gate we keep across the opening to the livingroom to keep Cash and Lady out of there to save that rug.    Four of our FINEST on the fire department came very quickly and by the time they packed their stuff up to leave, he was doing much better.   So much better that he had calmed down and his pulse was 71 and I felt comfortable enough to go up to the center with Tracie who was here when all this went down for a salad and a slice of pizza.
It wasn't worth leaving home for.  :0(  Hasn't improved in the ten or better years it's been here. Brick oven pizza that was like a brick.. The two or three times I was stupid enough to eat their pizza it was soggy in the middle. So.... I asked that the bottom crust be cooked and get over cooked. crust.  sigh!
It will be a longgggggggggggggg time before I forget how bad it was.  I shit you not!
Once back home I took hubby's B/P again. Pulse was 61. :0) He was watching So You Think You Can Dance and we both called it a night after it was over.  I was sitting at my desktop trying to read blogs and kept nodding off to find my head almost on the keyboard.    Tired....you bet!
Had no nap ;0( and broken sleep during the night doesn't make for a good nights sleep.
It isn't all hubby ........efffin right arm and sometimes my right leg is in so much pain it wakes me.
You ask .....when I am going to do something about it?????   I'm a mashochist!  Must be.......I shit you not!

Friday June 24th
Hubby has an appointment with his primary doctor at 1 p.m. today.  Maybe he can look into his medical records and see if there is any new information there. I did not know what to tell the EMT's as to his recent DX when they inquired as to what he is being treated for.
After hubby took his morning meds ( I stood over him ) he went back to sleep until 7:30ish and I took that quiet time to read blogs.  Sorry Auntie.  taking pictures hasn't been "right up there" in my priorities. Logan's report card is still sitting on the kitchen table. I'm surprised that I haven't put it in my china cabinet to keep it safe from spills, etc.
Mary...a Steak Bomb is shredded beef cooked with cheese, mushrooms , and ?? peppers? in a sub roll. Delishious! Sort of like Philly Steak n Cheese.  Hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe that's what I should have had instead of that Philly Steak and Cheese brick oven pizza which was like a BRICK!

It's minutes away from 8:30 a.m.  Must, must , must get motivated.
Someone needs to light a blow torch under my arse. I shit you not!

That's All Folks!

  2. I'm sitting here at work now thinking about how I can't wait to get home and start heaving. Hubby is driving me nuts. He's become the great hoarder of the household so I figured I'd hit his mess before he gets home from work.

  3. I'm learning how much stuff I have that I really do not need. Order and no clutter makes for a calmer mind I think.
