D D Hoping to make this a Quickie

Long story short....by the time the next call came around oneish and I heard him calling my name and begging for help and then being asked if I wanted him to be rescuitated if his heart stopped beating I was in tears and making pitiful noises as I lay across my bed.
Then a lightbulb went off in my head. Call Michelle.  She's his daughter by his first wife and would want to be with him too and has always told me to call her if something happens with him.
The nursing staff was so good to me. Thanked me for spending the night with him, gave me a pillow and blanket and some footsies for my cold feet. Towel and washcloth for the morning and ordered a breakfast tray to be brought to me in the morning.
His nurses remarked he was a different man in the morning. :0)
I got close to four hours sleep once I got home, but first I called his siblings to let them know he was back in the hospital and what had happened.
Once I find out what time he is being discharged , I will have to be shown by a nurse how to clean a Foley before we can leave.
I have told this story so much, I have forgot who all I told it to and just how much.  Know I probably left things out, but the crisis is over.  :0)
First they did a cat scan and the doctor told Jill he saw the worst case of Sinusitis he ever saw.
That was not the pain that hubby was complaining about though.  His abdomen was killing him with pain.
The nurse suggested an ultra sound of his bladder and found he had retained a litre and a half of urine in his bladder. In the St.Petersburg V.A. it was 500 cc's he had retained.  They put the Foley in to drain it. Now the question is. what is causing this to happen. Bladder or prostrate condition he has had for years.
They are making him an appt to see a urologist at the V.A.  Will wear the Foley until the time the urologist  decides it should be removed, which may be NEVER. Needs testing and camera up inside to his bladder.
They gave him some heavy duty stuff in his IV ( antibiotics ) for his Sinusitis and bladder.
His top number of his B/P was 198 around 8, but by ten it was 159. The doctors are going to look up his meds and see what needs to be changed if anything.  I no sooner get my routine down and they change things on me. :0( Oh well.
He ate his breakfast ( well one hard boiled egg and cornflakes ). Drank his milk, tea and apple juice and could have come home late yesterday. Jill and I told his nurse Milke that we needed some sleep and he said no problem. Told us when they called to tell us he was being discharged to tell them no one could come for him until tomorrow. It's done all the time he told us and we grabbed at the chance. That's the line ( fib ) Jill fed them when they called here after 5p.m.yesterday. :0)
It's now after 8 a.m. Tuesday and I expect I will be getting that call to come get him soon.

Called my best friend in AK last night. Her hubby is showing the same symptoms and all day she has tried to get him to let her take him to the hospital.  He is having no part of it. :0(
He has had a bad stroke that damaged his left side. Is unable to do alot for himself. Has had an enlarged prostrate for years too. Now he is not putting out much urine and is feverish.
MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby said to me yesterday, " if I hadn't have gone to the hospital, I would have died."
I agreed with him.

Okay...this is as short and sweet as it gets. ;0)
Busy day ahead of me.
Some of my frustrations yesterday included Tracie for not leaving here until after ten ( she was trying to unclog my jammed paper shredder, Logan ( whom put too much paper into it and caused the jam ), Randy ( that thinks the only thing I have on my mind is the flowers he gave me for Mothers Day that need to be planted), as well as at myself for not being able to find the time to do some uncluttering and organizing. sigh!

Thank you to all that read my diary and left words of comfort.

That's All Folks!

  4. I agree with Twain12, and if you aren't taking care of yourself you can't care for your husband, but you know that. ;)
