D D Day 44 and the Snow Fairy

This Snow Fairy didn't appear at my house. :0(
This was more like it!

and at the other end of that roof rake was
JILL!
Credit where credit is due.
She was not only out in the elements from 9a.m. ish to 4ish. , she came in and made a pork chop and pork roast supper complete with mashed potatos and asparagus, corn, gravy and leftover stuffing.
W.B. plowed for the town until 6 p.m. and then did his private contracts of driveways and a parkinglot.
She put a plate of food aside for him.
Sometime near 8 he showed up and they went to the Moose for a few hours.
Once back home she nuked his meal for him.
Heard the front door shut at 11 and he was back when I awoke this morning.  Had an hour of plowing his own driveway do to the snow banking buildup in front of his place he said and I assume he spent the night at his place once he could get in.
I enjoy shoveling snow, but yesterdays snowfall was a little MUCH! I shit you not!
Driving in snow has always terrorized me and back in my younger days I would NOT go to my beloved bingo halls when there was a threat of snow, no matter if there was zero accumulation predicted..
My life and limb was more important to me. :0)
Seeing my kids once they had a drivers license out in snowstorms made me NERVOUS and  FEARFUL .
Yesterday was a day for not man or beast to be on the roads except for those that were out clearing the roads and peoples that needed to be where they needed to be to care for our loved ones in our lives. AMEN!
Must admit....I am more than a little bit of a Fraidy Cat.  I shit you not!

This WHITE is blinding.  I shit you not!

Jill used the snowblower to allow for the dogs to run and do their business.
Look how neat a snowblower makes a path through the snow. Not without time and effort in this deep snow though.

I see my elderly neighbor Art cleared of his skylights over his kitchen with his roof rake.
Art is about five years older than myself and a small man.
The times he gets up on that roof to fix things he drives me crazy with worry.

It's 25 degrees nearing noon time and breezy.
Logan has another day of school off. I on the other hand have been doing some boring, but neccessary stuff.
Clearing out the 2010 paid bills out of the file box and making room for 2011's.
Every year I have put each bill to each utility company, etc. in order of the month it was sent.
This year ........as long as I have twelve statements gathered together...THAT WORKS> ;0)
Seldom have I ever had to climb up into the attic to get an old bill out of the box.
I'm a Creature Of Habit in some ways.  sigh!
Due in part to yesterdays snow storm I had a relatively quiet day. :0)
.................soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo rather than bore you , it's back to the task at hand.

That's All Folks!

  1. You sure had lots of snow, my friend. It's beautiful there, though. Not grey and dirty like it gets here. My son took the monitor to the repair man in our neighborhood today, and that's what it was. So, my son is off to find a new one. Now, if I can figure out how to keep the router on. Ah, this new technology sure is a stresser.

  2. We needed a roof rake for the mail trucks today. I stopped at a box and swoosh! it all came down the front of the truck... took out two mirrors. Thnakfully, it's not one I use. :)

  3. OMG that snow! I can't believe it. Do you go through that every Winter? It looks so pretty but I know how much work it is.
