aka Scott would have been 72 years old. He passed away at age 52.
Sitting here dumbfounded .....20 years has passed by.
It doesn't seem possible!
Ron was much of a mystery most of his adulthood.
When he was incarserated we knew where he was............otherwise he wasn't heard from much.
Our mother had been passed away 5 years and it had been a good 8 years altogether since he contacted any of us.
I was the one he first contacted in most cases and on this one I was the bearer of that news that she had died.
He was living in FL within 30 miles of where my parents lived for a good many years before they came to live with me due to my mother's declining health.
She raised his son from the age of approximately 16 months of age.
Flew to MD from CA where we lived at the time to take custody of him. My parents became his legal guardians.
During this time Ron was incarserated and my nephew's mother was not taking care of him and his sister by another man so the state stepped in.
Ronnette didn't have the same father even though Andrea named her after him.
Her mother raised Ronnette until ill health forced her to put her in a foster home.
My parents raised Andrew and were all he knew as parents...called them mom and dad ( which was a thorn in my sister and other brothers side ) because their kids called them nana and grampy.
Too long a story .....too long back.... to drag it all out again.
Andrew's mother passed away at age 21.. while in the recovery room after having surgery for a tumor in her head that was pushing one of her eyes out of the socket.
.She had at least 2 more children after he was born that were adopted and one before Ronnette was born that also was taken away from her and adopted.
Drew as he likes to be called was the only son Andrea had, but his father ( my brother ) fathered more children from MA to Fl to CA.
Mom was fond of saying " I don't dare chase any kids out of my yard, because they may be my own grandkids."
I am godmother to one son (MIchael T. ) that I haven't seen since he was maybe 10. Is in his 40's now.
Just the other day I found him and his mother on FaceBook.
Sent her a message....let's see if she wants to communicate again. Hubby and I did alot of babysitting and housesitting for her and her deceased husband . She had 2 more sons by her husband.
Maybe she would just as soon not open old wounds to her oldest and let the past be buried.
Will understand.
His youngest son ( Scott ) was 10 when he died. I had met him and his mother Katherine months before he passed away. He told her I was his only sibling and we were both adopted.
Yup...you read that right. ...sigh!
That makes him 30 in November.... OMG! Saw him the following year when I went to FL to visit my brother Larry that lived 30 miles or so away and since then ...no contact.
Assuming it was his mother's choice.
She would want to protect him from any unpleasant facts about his dad getting to his ears.
She never wrote any of us again and I took that as a cue.
I'm sure he would remember staying at my house a few weeks and playing with my grands that were close in age to him. Maybe he too does not want to connect with his past.
Not nice to talk bad of the dead.....Ron broke alot of hearts .....the mother's of his children thought they were the only wives or girlfriends. Never bothered to get a divorce from the first wife to the next to last.
Hubby, myself, Drew and my mom corresponded with his wife in Germany.
Susie was a sweetheart. They had no kids. He just up and left her one day with no parting words. That was his modus operandi. That and changing his name . Both first and last names.
Was interred as Scott Marlow... neither are his given names. Ronald Scott was another that comes to mind.
Ut Oh ...if anyone reads this that is missing a dad by that name with that birthdate...and wants to have closure...contact me.
Suzanne went back to Germany and became an attorney. Never remarried. She passed away in her sleep maybe 10 years back.
It was mom's wish to not have Ron listed as a son in her obituary... wanted Drew named as her son.
We honored her wish.
Okay, enough of GLUM!
Tracie called again late p.m. to come over to use the pool. It probably was 7ish.
Hubby grumbled......took that cue to keep her outside, so I went out to sit and chat.
Rather have been inside, but.........oh well!
No wonder my days are shortened. I shit you not!
Close to 9 I mentioned to her that I wanted to shower off the sweat and get in pj's .
She took the hint.. I showered and donned my pj's just in time to catch most of So You Think You Can Dance with hubby.
Asked why it wasn't on when I came inside and he said it was no fun to watch it by himself....yep I took that hint. ; 0 )
Jill came here with whom she calls her friend George around 8:30. Was feeling good.
They had been to the Outback to eat and.............................yeah..... drink.!!!
She had mac and cheese with green onions on top and ?
Somehow fish was mentioned and I mentioned I loved catfish.
He had her get on his cell phone and dial a friend of his that drives over the road still to see if some could be shipped to me.
Told him to watch for places that freeze dry catfish and ship it.
Friend told him to go online and he said his computer was buried under a ton of stuff.
Jill introduced herself as a friend of his and I hear George mutter, " we're more than that."
Here we go again! I shit you not!
Hubby told me that she called before they came here to ask if her son Ryan was here.
Good thinking Jill.........good thinking. Thank You Lord.
Or .................George and she was would have been rebuked.
Hubby just asked me why a fan was on in the parlor...........he had just came out of the shower.
Gave him the ," I don't know"....got up and went to the parlor. The blades are not turning. sigh!
He is getting ready for me to take him to the chiropractor. That's my cue to get myself showered and ready.
Maybe I can get him out somewhere to eat.....I hope, I hope...
Those grilled hotdogs and some leftovers we had for supper have left me yearning for something different.
It's been mostly leftovers since Sunday. ENOUGH!!!! I shit you not!
That's All Folks!
