Make this short and sweet.
Have that memorial service for Sombay's mom to go to this morning.
She called last night to remind me as I had asked her to.
These things creep up on you so fast and even though I keep notes to myself, I ask for a reminder call when I can.
Yesterday we made it to the chiropractor at 11:40 a.m.
From there I gathered my nerves and made a right out of the parking lot, instead of a left turn.
Hubby asked where I was going and once told.... he was up for seafood.
I drive the middle lane of a 3 way highway. Kept my speed up to 60-62 and vehilcles wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy behind me in my rear view mirror kept gaining on me and passing me the entire 10 miles or better drive to NH.
Speed limit is 55mph. Ever since a third lane was made................it's become the Indianapolis Speedway.
Before we left the house, I had in my mind to get chlorine at Namco while in NH to save paying tax on it.
After eating, I left hubby on the sidewalk....went for the car.........then went and picked him up.
Okay some extra in's and outs of the car for moi to leave him curbside and pick him back up .
Beautiful sunny day, no problem getting out to get his Canadian crutches in the back seat and help him out or in......... unless it's raining.. LOL Which it wasn't.
Great meal...we leave and as I head out of that parking lot he asks me to take him to Home Depot.
By this time, I was ready to forego Namco and head towards home.....Oh well.
This search for two pieces he needed for his electic air pump would involve a wheelchair.
Out I take the nice light weight transport chair and away we went.
Jill used it with him at his Boston V.A. appointment and said he made lil waves, but accepted it and no waves were made yesterday. Amen!
If I tell you that we were in one spot in the generator section for over an hour while I handed him part after part that he would turn his head and squint to look at..........I wouldn't be exaggerating one iota.
At first he saw what he thought was a store worker and asked him for help. That man was gracious to comply, but he was finally unable to help any more.
Two store workers....still came up empty. A third finally ventured up our aisle noticing we looked lost.....again hubby told what he had at home and what he needed.
He knew his stuff.....we were in the industrial generator aisle and we needed to go to aisle 37.
Every part where we were was much too big. One and a half hours later we emerge with our $4 and some odd cents purchase.
Namco was at the other end of this shopping area , so it was his time to wait on moi.
Will spare you the frustration and time that purchasing 4 - 25 lb. buckets of granulated chlorine took.
It's cheaper to buy that way. You save $40 by buying four....$30 buying 3, $20 buying two.
If you call $159.99 versus $199.99 a bargain. Since the gas prices shot up a few years ago now...the price of chlorine has gone from $99.99 for 4 buckets to $159.99. I shit you not!
Home never looked so good. It was 4:30 p.m.
No matter that I had started to clean in the kitchen before we left and counters were dis com bob ulated.
Hubby fixed his air pump and in leaning to reach for something he slid almost all the way off the bed.
Seemed like it took 5 minutes to get his lower body and legs back up on the bed. Probably did.
Asked me why the bed collapses when he sits on the edge of it. New to moi????? : 0 )
Tracie came over around 7 ... we sat at the kitchen table talking...
Low and behold it wasn't long before hubby needed to come out to use the restroom.... where did he sit afterwards.....at the kitchen table. I shit you not!
Tracie had been to Daisy's graveside service. Daisy had been a neighbor for many moons and in her later years had to move out. She was 90 and a few days old.
Tracie says she was like her second mother. Do know that both Tracie and her mom visited back and forth with Daisy even after she moved away into senior housing.
So they talked about whom was and wasn't at the service..... Go figure him out! I can't!
Still hadn't laid eyes on Jill since she left after 8 a.m. some 11 hours later.
If she came in while we were out, nothing was different. No towel in hamper, clothes worn to work.
Don't know how the next thing I'm talking about, came about.
Tracie started talking food for her supper.....steak maybe...driving this distance or that...suggested the OutBack...........and what popped out of my mouth??? If you go there, I'll join you for a few Peach, Strawberry sangria's. Told hubby where I was off to, kissed him goodbye and off we went. I shit you not!
This is soooooooooooooooo uncommon for moi. Did I enjoy myself...ubetcha!
My favorite waitperson Lydia had our booth. The place was abuzz....Tables and booths full and all kinds of conversations going on. The time of day hubby and I go, it's not really busy UNLESS it's Mother's Day or something like that.
Enjoyed my 2 drinks...we talked...Tracie isn't as dense as some people think. She brought up alot of what's been going on with her reception at my house ....was told by Jill after her mom died that she would always get a meal from Jill at least once a week or she never would have come over on Family Night.
We got alot cleared up.....then she told me that her mother hurt her so bad with some words she said to her.
She had been undergoing chemo after her breast removal surgery some years back before she passed away.
By the way ......... .she beat breast cancer. YES!
Her sister was never around to take their mom to these chemo appointments, etc. and her mom began giving her sister praises one day when Tracie took her to her appointment. Tracie asked her what her sister had ever done for her ( the sis is an alkie and begs $ or has stolen it out of her mom's purse:..)
Her words....." at least she gave me a grandchild."
Those words cut Tracie to the bone.. Felt like a searing poker hot knife going through her she said.
She told me of how she has had plenty of opportunities to have sex...did not want to and did not think it was fair to bring a child into this world with all her medical problems since birth that she might pass on.
Sounds pretty unselfish of her, moi thinks. Way to go Tracie.
Tracie was drinking Sprite....she doesn't drink alcohol either.
Back in my driveway at 10....hubby had nodded off...made sure all the animals had food and water and sat at my computer awhile.
Jill had come home and left right away again, hubby said upon awakening.
8:20 a.m. No sign of her. Know she works a wedding this p.m. She is reliable that way, so I know she will be around sometime today.
8:20 a.m. Memorial Service at 9:30 a.m. Got to haul ass.
Did I say that I was going to make this short and sweet???? I lied! I shit you not!
That's All Folks!
The ramblings of a mom of 9 by her KIDS that are STILL making her climb walls ,even as adults. Said I DO 3xs and I WANT OUT 2 xs. Have learned there is no such thing as a Rose Garden. My motto is Life Is Too Short To Be Miserable. When the bad outweighs the good it is time to shit can em. Laugh with me or at me, welcome to my world.
I AM WOMAN! Hear me ROAR! February 2012
WARNING !! Not for those with a short attention span. ; 0 )
unfortunately the people we love the most also have the power to hurt us the most...very sad Tracie had to hear that from her mom.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a quiet (uneventful) weekend
For this reason, I do not say hateful things in anger.
ReplyDeleteHave been hurt by words....once they come out of the mouth they can never be returned.
The person on the receiving end, keeps them in their memory forever.
